Premier Ford is announcing Gen. Rick Hillier's new role chairing Ontario's vaccine distribution task force, saying he'll bring "military precision" to the task.

Ford to small business: "We're here to support you...what's really going to be the gamechanger is this vaccine."

Dr. Yaffe says regardless of what's open in TO/Peel, the message is still don't go out if you don't have to (in response to Q about why Hudson's Bay is still open...)

Ford says cordoning off some areas of big box stores would be "a logistical nightmare." Says he knows it's not fair.
Reveals he spoke to Walmart's CEO about this (Walmart is open.)

"I don't believe in changing the dance partner in the middle of the dance...he's a great dancer," Ford says of Dr. Williams.

(Apparently The Bay should NOT be open for in-person shopping, only curbside and delivery. This is being looked into.)

Ford says numbers in Peel and Brampton are "going through the roof."
"They're out of control right now," he says.

Right now it is 11% in Brampton, almost 7% in Peel region.

#BREAKING: Ontario is not keeping Peel region in modified stage 2 for another week, as requested by the region's medical officer. It's moving to red "control" level, which allows businesses such as restaurants/gyms to reopen under strictly limited numbers. #onpoli

Ottawa/York are moving to the orange "restrict" level (as expected.)

Toronto still remains in modified stage 2 until at least Nov. 14 (no indoor dining, gyms or cinemas.) #onpoli

Another 10 regions will be placed in the yellow "protect" level (fewer restrictions): Brant, Hamilton, Durham, E. Ontario, Haldimand-Norfolk, Halton, Niagara, Waterloo, Simcoe-Muskoka, Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph #onpoli
