Randomized, placebo-controlled trial of convalescent plasma(CP) for severe #COVID19: "no significant differences...in clinical status or overall mortality" @NEJM
"We believe the use of CP as a standard of care....should be reevaluated." nejm.org/doi/full/10.10…

The most over-studied, under-performing, repurposed drug in modern times.

Incredible. A faculty doctor @UCLAHealth @dgsomucla
says we are too cautious by demanding evidence for #COVID19 medications. And that hydroxychloroquine has strong data to support its use. That we're killing patients.

This outrageous oped has common threads with the recent @SenRonJohnson hearing that @ashishkjha was summoned to testify for "being responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths." Dr. Jha's essay @nytopinion on anti-science is important to reflect upon.

It was "incalculable" on May 24th.
The loss of 250, 000 Americans as of Nov 18th is indescribable. Unfathomable. And mostly preventable.
"They Were Not Simply Names on a List"

Each American lost an average of 10 years of life and left behind an average of 9 family members grieving. Still grieving their loss, 6 months later.
Now multiply that 2.5 times.
Our family, friends, patients, coworkers, neighbors, our fellow Americans. Lost souls.
Today we had the highest number of deaths since early May @COVID19Tracking

The only silver lining of rampant covid spread in the US is that the vaccine trials are getting completed much faster
