Here is a summary of today’s #COVID19AB update. It is important that we support anyone w/COVID-19 & avoid stigmatizing others in our communities. COVID-19 is not restricted to region, race or religion. It does not play favourites & we need to support anyone who gets sick. (1/8)

Over the last 24hrs, we identified 1,854 new cases & completed 19.6K+ tests. Our prov positivity rate sits at about 9.5% & we have 17,743 active cases. There are 511 people in hospital, incl 97 in ICU. These numbers are concerning and I know AHS is watching closely. (2/8)

There were 14 deaths related to COVID-19 reported to us in the past 24 hrs. I know the pain & sadness their death causes for family & friends left behind. They are not just a statistic, they represent ABs who were loved & who meant the world to those closest to them. (3/8)

In schools, there are currently active alerts or outbreaks in 407 schools, about 17% of schools in AB with a combined total of 1,561 active cases. There are 220 schools with outbreaks, incl 100 on the watch list. (4/8)

We’ve received Qs about carpooling: whenever possible, limit group travel to household members. If not possible, allow for 2m between each other, wear masks & wash/sanitize hands before entering & exiting vehicle + disinfect. open.alberta.ca/publications/c… (5/8)

Thank you to the many Albertans following restrictions to the best of their ability & for asking questions when they are unsure. This is a great example of Albertans doing everything in their power to protect one another. Knowledge & info is an important part of that. (6/8)

We are seeing rising transmission across AB incl increased spread in rural communities & growing outbreaks in central, north & south zones. 1/3 of top 15 areas w/highest active case rates are outside Edmonton and Calgary. COVID-19 doesn’t care what our postal code is. (7/8)

If ppl in a community aren’t consistently observing distancing, wearing masks or staying home when unwell, it doesn’t take long to infect a large % of the population. That’s why it’s essential that all Albertans – rural & urban – do everything possible to limit the spread. (8/8)

Here is a summary of today’s #COVID19AB update. We have identified 1,879 new cases with 18,806 active case across Alberta. I’m sad to report an additional six deaths. My condolences to the families and friends mourning a loved one today. (1/4)

There are currently 563 people in hospital with 101 people in ICU. On Dec. 4, 21,069 tests were completed bringing the total number of tests to 2,347,555 since the pandemic began. (2/4)

I know the current restrictions aren’t easy and being physically separated from family and friends is difficult, especially at this time of year. But please do everything you can this weekend to stop the spread. (3/4)

Here is a summary of today’s #COVID19AB update: Over the last 24hrs, we identified 1,828 new cases & completed about 17,200 new tests. Our prov positivity rate has risen to 10.5% & we have 18,243 active cases. This is a grim milestone that should concern us all. (1/10)

There are 533 people in hospital, incl 99 in ICU. 15 deaths were reported to us in the past 24 hrs. I want to share my deepest condolences. Grieving the loss of a loved one is never easy & I know the challenges & restrictions of this virus make it even more difficult. (2/10)

In schools, there are currently active alerts/outbreaks in 415 schools, about 18% of schools in AB with a combined total of 1,581 active cases. There are 221 schools with outbreaks, incl 99 on the watch list. (3/10)

There were 10 deaths related to COVID-19 reported to us in the past 24 hours. My sympathies are with the loved ones of these individuals and those who have passed away from any other cause. (2/9)

Here is a summary of today’s #COVID19AB update. Over the last 24 hours, we have identified 1,307 new cases & completed 15.8K+ new tests. Our prov positivity rate currently sits at about 8.4% & we have 16,628 active cases. There are 479 people in hospital incl 97 in ICU. (1/7)

There were 10 deaths reported to us in the past 24 hrs. My sympathies go to those mourning the loss of a loved one. I also want to recognize everyone w/a loved one in hospital, an outbreak setting, or impacted by COVID-19 in any other way. This virus impacts all of us. (2/7)

There are alerts/outbreaks in 393 schools – about 16% of all schools, w/1,453 active cases. This number incl 207 w/outbreaks incl 92 on the watch list. (3/7)

Here is a summary of today’s #COVID19AB update. Over the last 24 hours, we have identified 1,733 new cases & completed about 20,500 new tests. Our prov positivity rate currently sits at about 8.4% & we have 16,454 active cases. (1/9)

There are 453 people in hospital, of those, 96 are in the ICU. Sadly, there were 8 deaths related to COVID-19 reported to us in the past 24 hrs. My thoughts are with the family and friends of those individuals as they mourn the passing of their loved one. (2/9)

There are alerts/outbreaks in 376 schools (203 w/outbreaks incl 88 on watch) w/1,405 active cases. With grades 7-12 students at home, we can expect a reduction in cases & outbreaks attributed to schools in the coming days. They will still be reflected in active cases. (3/9)

Here is a summary of today’s #COVID19AB update. We have identified 1,608 new cases and there are now 15,692 active cases across Alberta. I’m sad to report an additional nine deaths. I want to extend my sympathies to everyone grieving a lost loved one today. (1/4)

There are currently 435 people in hospital, with 95 people in ICU. Yesterday, 23,282 tests were completed. This brings brings the total number to 2,234,470 tests. (2/4)

The next few weeks will be hard for all of us in light of the restrictions on social gatherings. I want to thank all of you for doing the right thing and making these sacrifices to help bend the curve. (3/4)
