There are 453 people in hospital, of those, 96 are in the ICU. Sadly, there were 8 deaths related to COVID-19 reported to us in the past 24 hrs. My thoughts are with the family and friends of those individuals as they mourn the passing of their loved one. (2/9)

There is a lag time between actions & results. COVID-19 has a long incubation period, actions we take today will not be seen for 10-14 days. We must remain more vigilant than ever. We need to bend the curve & lower active cases to protect each other & our healthcare system. (4/9)
We are all feeling diff emotions about where we are at right now. Anger, guilt, fear, sadness, denial & bargaining are common themes. Exp. these emotions is a normal part of grieving. These emotions do not mean we have lost the battle, just that it is a hard one to fight. (5/9)
It takes a number of efforts to min transmission – incl physical distancing, wearing masks & practicing good hand hygiene & we need to continue for months to come. I know that can seem overwhelming but we need every Albertan to focus on how they can change their lives. (6/9)
We take outbreaks in congregate living seriously. I’ve met w/cont care operators & staff to discuss facility measures. AHS is supporting local officials on outbreaks, incl #YYC Remand Centre & #YEG Convention Centre to ensure ppl at risk are tested, isolated & supported. (7/9)
The actions we take this week will help shape the spread we see in mid-December. We are all at risk of COVID-19 – women & men, young & old. Recovery can be slow and some symptoms can last long after a person is contagious. Long-term health impacts remain unknown. (8/9)
By minimizing the spread, we’re not only preventing someone from having to isolate at home while they’re infectious, we’re also sparing them from a long list of challenges that could impact their long-term health and quality of life. (9/9)

I care deeply about the health of AB. It remains my hope that AB understands & respects every conversation I have, put their health & a holistic consideration of all aspects of their health, 1st. I have always felt that my ideas are respectfully considered. (3/10)
All of us want the same thing: to protect the health of Albertans, to protect our health system, and to minimize the impact this pandemic is having on everyone’s lives. (4/10)
