It's Finnish Independence Day, and it's time for nationalists to remind people that it's imore than a flag filter on your profile pic or tweeting some platitude about war veterans.

Being a Finn is our unique identity, and as all previous generations did, we must preserve it.
->
Despite being a small people of 5,5 million people, a Finn can easily be told with a gene test from any of our neighbors. We are a moment in a continuum of thousands of years of Finnish tribes living on this land and improving it for the next generation.
->
We're not, and we should never be, grey, multicultural globohomo mass. If that's what we become, Finland will cease to exist.

The state of Finland is an institution, and its foundation is the Finnish people. No nation without a people, no people without a bloodline.
->
For millennia, Finns built this land in harsh conditions and laid foundations for our current comfort and stability.

We have no right to give their work away. Finland is not ours to give to anyone - the EU or strangers - because it's only borrowed to us for our lifetime.
->
We are not just individuals floating around. We have roots, and those roots bring us responsibility to take care of what we were given, and when the time comes, hand that heritage over to the next generation in an improved state, not spoiled.
->
Many gave their lives to secure our independence, and platitudes about veterans and fallen heroes aren't true respect for their work. That true respect is shown by valuing what they fought for and holding it as our most precious treasure.
->
So on your country's Independence Day remember the generations that came before you, worked for a better life for you, and understand your role in this continuum. You have roots and meaning. Cherish your identity and work to pass it on to the next generation.

Long live Finland!

Data about welfare for migrants in Finland (thread).

66% of people who come from typical refugee countries receive income supplementation.

Saajia: Amount of benefit receivers
Saajien osuus: % of receivers in that group
Pakolaisten lähtömaat: Refugee origin countries
->
55% of immigrants from refugee countries in Finland receive unemployment checks.

That doesn't mean 55% are unemployed.

The number is higher, but not all of them are eligible for unemployment checks, so they get income supplementation instead.
->
75% of immigrants from typical refugee countries receive housing benefit.

They have big families, so they get big apartments, and since they want to live in the big cities, understandably their rents are high.

But who cares, when they don't have to pay for it, right?

Olen yrittänyt analysoida, miksi ranskalaisten reaktio #SamuelPaty mestaukseen on herättänyt erilaisen ja vahvemman reaktion kuin kaikki ne aiemmat iskut, vaikka osa aiemmista iskuista, kuten Nizza ja Bataclan, olivat paljon tuhoisampia. Tässä analyysin tulokset:
->
->

Perussuomalaisen Nuorison eli näin ystävien kesken peppu-jugendin pj Miko Bergbom on Ylen haastattelussa uuden järjestön linjasta yms. Puretaanpa Mikon ajatusmaailmaa hieman twiittiketjulla. Jo otsikossa piilovittuillaan Mikolle, joten jännää on tiedossa.
->
Miko on sananvapauden puolustaja, joka sivutoimenaan pyrkii laajentamaan vaiennettavan vihapuheen määritelmää koskemaan myös vieraan valtion sotatoimien kritisointia. No, harrastuksensa kullakin.
->
No niin, heti mennään pakolaisten auttamiseen. Kansallismielisen mielessä kuuluisi pyöriä ensisijaisesti Suomen kansan auttaminen, ja toissijaisesti eurooppalaisten veljeskansojemme auttaminen, koska he taistelevat samoja uhkia vastaan kuin me.

Äärioikeistolaiselle väkivallalle olisi kovasti kysyntää vihervasemmiston riveissä, mutta koska tarjontaa on heikosti, marttyyrit haetaan sieltä, mistä nyt saadaan, eli otetaan vaikkapa joku #JimiKarttunen ja ruvetaan porukalla tekemään siitä antifasistista sankaria.
->
Olennaista on juuri marttyyrius.
->

It's painful to see nationalists who have lost sight of what the point of politics is and fallen for political tribalism: "These guys are our side, and whatever they do is good. The other guys are the enemy, and whatever they do is bad. I 100% support my candidate/party."
->
So these are the people who support "our guys" in politics even when they're not fighting for our cause. Like Trump/GOP stans who can't criticize him even when he's going against nationalist policy or even doing something that's actively harmful to the cause.
->
The Finnish version of this are the Finns Party stans who attack anyone criticizing the party even when it's warranted criticism. They have forgotten that the party and politicians are just tools for achieving the actual goal. They're not the cause we're fighting for.

Yes, that's what's your expected to do. Because there are no other options. You're not going to stop the rioting by going in there guns blazing. Our fate isn't decided in street fights but through politics. Focus your energy where you actually can make a difference.
->
Also, I see these silly opinions both from antifa and nationalists, that this is like the big showdown between them. No it's not. In order for it to be that, someone would have to be able to actually win that showdown. But neither of the fighters will end up in power.
->
No matter how fighting on the streets goes, the power will be in hands of people like Trump, Pence, Biden or Harris. The establishment, which doesn't share the opinions of either side of the radicals. They might use the radicals for their own gain, but don't share their goals.
