1/At least 1,500 lawyers, retired judges, law professors, DOJ alumni - two former presidents of @ABAesq among them - have called for bar associations to condemn Trump campaign lawyers and to investigate their post-election conduct.
2/My decision pertained to recent comments made by Trump attny Joe DiGenova that @C_C_Krebs should be “drawn and quartered” and “taken out at dawn and shot.”
DiGeova later said his comments were in "jest". I unequivocally reject that excuse.
3/Lawyers have responsibilities that extend beyond the interests of our clients. We are held to a high standard to ensure we advocate for the interests of justice, and that certainly means we refrain from rhetoric or vitriolic statements that could bring harm to a third party.
4/Having been the recipient of death threats for simply doing my job, I am particularly sensitive to the dangers espoused by careless or intentional comments filled with hate.
6/Law Professor @JonathanTurley feels differently. To him, WE are are the threat, especially he views DiGenova's comments as "clearly meant to be a joke." I stand by my original comments as to anyone who reaches that interpretation. Sad to see.
49 years ago yesterday #DBCooper successfully perpetrated the most famous unsolved skyjacking crime. Or did he? I provided legal counsel to cold case team that believes we solved the mystery.
Tonight, I'm discussing new @TheHisotry program on case.
2/ I've worked this case for several years. Our cold case team incl experts in law, law enforcement, forensics, cryptology, journalism & other relevant areas. First hand witnesses were interviewed & we were regularly in touch with @FBI.
3/I had no idea @TheHisotry was producing program. No one connected to it reached out to our cold case team, which was more than 40 people.
There are many theories abt hijacking & I was surprised they didn't contact us if only to compare notes. Our efforts were high profile.
1/My client, a Navy veteran sexual assault victim, was subject of high level political smear attacks that led to firing of Deputy Secretary @DeptVetAffairs, who has now gone on record.
Now Congressman @DanCrenshawTX (R-TX) is slandering victim. Why?
2/@RepDanCrenshaw claims "she had filed six complaints while they served together in the Navy". FALSE.
Do you have proof to contrary Congressman? Let's hear it.
Why does it even matter if she filed even one complaint? What are you insinuating? That she files false reports?
3/That she exaggerates? That she creates situations as a victim? Is that what you are alleging about a sexual assault victim who actually works alongside of you in Congress? Do you really think your statement helps victims be comfortable in coming forward to report assaults?
No one should be treated like this, regardless of ideology. Culprits should be arrested & prosecuted.
But don't necessarily believe what could be propaganda by alt-right as other incidents allegedly involving BLM & Antifa (not an org) turned out to be right-wing agitators.
"In some cases, they have been found to purposefully sow confusion by impersonating left-wing activists in an effort to fuel movement toward civil war."
1/Several years ago I handled prepublication review case of former @CIA engineer who participated in #ProjectAzorian & he published "The CIA's Greatest Covert Operation: Inside the Daring Mission to Recover a Nuclear-Armed Soviet Sub".
If you are journalist who wants to #FOIA@USGSA for any documents relating to this debacle & expose potential partisanship of @GSAEmily, my law firm would be willing to represent you pro bono in court. You just pay filing fee.
