If Tesla was a REAL software company, after you press that "YES" dialog button about "This is beta, blah blah, I understand what I am doing and will keep both pieces if it breaks" setting windows become accessible ImageImage
A lot of settings...
So many settings it's take you several minutes to even read them
And then even more settings,... until you just want to turn it off due to choice-paralysis Image
And then only the most strong of us would just go and play.
But then we wake up and realize it was just a dream.
Of course nothing like that is possible because NNs don't work like that, they just continuously learn from the best of us. Software 2.0, baby. Programming goes the way of the dodo bird surely as the sun sets on the East.
Thank god for dremodems (дремодем)! I recorded the dream and we all can laugh at my wild imagination.
Mapped intersections, mapped traffic control devices, mapped lanes, mapped stoplines and direction of travel, ..., one of those days I'll need to quit drinking ImageImage
BTW, I just remembered my first encountered of AP settings screen. It was way smaller back in 2017.

But it was part of the prod firmware back then! (sadly quickly taken out, boo!)

Some seriously cool and very practical information Esp. for the tinkering types.

@Tesla now gives access to repair manuals, service information, vehicle diagnostic (remote in EU) and such.
For free!
I was told it's not a bug.
Seriously step in the right direction!
go to service.tesla.cn and then you create account with country set to China and access level: diagnostic + software.
in second screen fill in some extra details like this:
you'll get to the registration screen in likely your local region that looks like this:

YOU ARE DONE, don't press the register button, press the sign-in and that brings you to the service site with credentials you have created.

2020.48.5 is rolling out.
Junction mode for improved navigation, but only for China now. Needs new maps.
In Canada running a red light/stop sign warning on hw2.x
Blinking taillight on strong braking on model 3/Y in China.
Text messages improvements. Image
Weird new chargeport cable unlatch S/X button??
QQ music improvements (China)
Trax v0.2
on-board storage of "panic" sentry events even if no usb plugged (finally!) Image
It also has the new bluetooth firmware for the model X keys, but it's not spelled in release notes on how to update to it visibly.
Also new 5G cell modem is now official for both S/X and 3/Y cars, seems to be this: qualcomm.com/products/snapd…
Kernel update but no source on github yet

(Not to distract too much from the FSD limited rollout too much)
Some people believe nowadays Tesla only lets me see things they want me to see. Let's assume this is true and so this is an authorized information disbursement.

99% based on information Tesla let me see.
All the Model3 refresh stuff: new interior (including the top console that nobody noted somehow), heated steering wheel, efficiency package M3 2021 and M3 SR+ 2020Q4 Shanghai (this one is believed to be LiFe batteries?), heated radar, usb-c in glove box, powered liftgate
new wheels (18" pinwheels with updated caps, 19" stiletto, 20" uberturbine, 19" ZeroG), option of chrome delete ("satin black"). Head/taillights get a new type "Global" in addition to NA and CN_EU. Native wireless phone charger.

A financial diversion for this Sunday. In the EAP comments many highlighted how "showing profit" is important for "S&P inclusion".
Now I am not a financial person and don't even play one on TV so I asked them how is the S&P inclusion important and got answers that don't add up
hopefully some actually smart and financially smart people can explain to me all of this?
namely Why S&P inclusion is important and good for both Tesla and shareholders.

I'll start with what I learned so far and what I think the holes in the logic are

In no particular order:
1. "It will create a short squeeze"
Now what good is out of it other than a momentary stock run up and then fall back to Earth? In fact would it even run up? unlike the much touted VW example, S&P inclusion does not mean the stock is going private (= forced liquidation of shorts)

So apparently H in TESLA stands for Honesty and I is for Integrity.

I got a "lease balance" bill on June 13th that amongst other things billed me $1064 for excess mileage, $1200 for "excess wear and tear", $395 disposition fee, some taxes and so on (don't have a picture handy)
This was sort of surprising since I
1. returned the lease on March 20 (so 3 months/12 weeks ago)
2. it was inspected on the spot by Tesla and declared in good condition
3. I was told that nothing is due and even signed some paper to that effect (somehow forgot to take a picture)
Naturally I emailed Tesla the same day seeing WTDF is going on and asking for a copy of the paperwork from lease return.
On Aug 3rd I got my reply-non-reply (meanwhile like clockwork I was getting automated nags to pay the bill)

As more and more people have their premium connectivity trial expiring, I keep getting this question about how to make hotspots more tolerable and make wifi stay on even as you shift into gear.

What many don't know is in the past there was a special "tether" flag on a wifi AP,
It would be set on any AP that you would "forcefully" connect to after shifting into gear and then enabling wifi.
Wifi would stay on if connected to such AP

Then it all stopped working sparking theories from people that knew about it if it was deliberate.

I set out to research.
It turns out as model3 code was developed, old QtCarNetManager code was dropped and rewritten as QtCarConnMan by apparently a different person (new hire?) unfamilar with the codebase, so they totally ignored all the existing tether infrastructure and forced wifi disconnect in D
