Every few hours (for weeks now) my name pops up on a new spam German porn site along with a bunch of other random names & words lol—can't help but suspect it's revenge for the fact that my stuff sits at the top of a number of Google searches for various Ukrainian diaspora leaders
I suppose this will just continue indefinitely? Haha oh well. At the end of the day it just makes me look more important than I actually am by inflating the number of Google hits for my name, so thank you, I guess, to whoever is responsible
>5000 Google search results (>60% of hits for "Moss Robeson") just disappeared--seemingly all spam sites lol. Interesting...
Recently in Kyiv, right-wing nationalists protested the Ukrainian president Zelenskiy by staging a mock funeral for "justice." Far-right orgs like National Corps, Democratic Axe, and C14's Society of the Future participated. This is a #thread about the girl with the blindfold.
Olya Sydii from Lviv is the information and propaganda officer for the OUN-B's Youth Nationalist Congress (MNK), pictured here with int'l OUN-B leader Stefan Romaniw (🇦🇺) at Stepan Bandera's grave in Munich last year for the 50th anniversary of his death. Likely an OUN-B member.
As I wrote in this recent article for @DefendingHistor, from 2016-19, the OUN-B's militant, anti-Semitic MNK was a member of the western (including USAID)-funded Reanimation Package of Reforms Coalition. During this time, some doors opened for Sydii. defendinghistory.com/is-usaid-still…
StopFake producer Irena Chalupa was tapped as the spokesperson for the DNC's Ukrainian Americans for Biden in final stretch of the 2020 campaign. In the 1980s she worked in the Munich HQ of OUN-B & the "largest & most important umbrella for former Nazi collaborators in the world"
Seems that Chalupa may have met her British Banderite husband via the OUN-B's Anti-Bolshevik Bloc of Nations. He was an official advisor to DNC's Ukrainian Americans for Biden
This Kyiv Post article suggests that the perception in Italy that its Ukrainian community is dominated by radical rightists is just "anti-Ukraine propaganda." So let us take a look at the Italian Ukrainian leader of the #FreeMarkiv campaign, Oles Horodetskyy...
For starters, Horodetskyy met another hero of his in 2014, Right Sector founder Dmytro Yarosh. Seems to credit Mykhailo Ratushny for arranging the meeting--someone who is very well connected to both the Ukrainian diaspora and the far-right in Ukraine: facebook.com/photo?fbid=153…
Horodetskyy is president of the Christian Society of Ukrainians in Italy (CSUI) & coordinated "Euromaidan Rome." CSUI is apparently a member org of @ICSUkraine, the int'l coordinating body of OUN-B affiliated organizations. Horodetskyy & ICSU at Bandera's grave with OUN-B leader:
#Thread Meet Michael Ratushnyy, head of the Ukrainian World Coordinating Council (UWCC). As you can imagine, with such a title, he gets around. Ratushnyy was first elected to the position in 2011 by the 5th World Forum of Ukrainians & re-elected in 2016. Buckle up, as they say...
The UWCC was set up in accordance with the 1st World Forum of Ukrainians, which took place in Kyiv in 1992. Former Rukh leader Ivan Drach was the first head of the UWCC. It sounds like the UWCC was intended to be a Kyiv-based/oriented counterpart to the diaspora-led @UWCongress.
Ratushnyy was one of a few members of the OUN-B's Congress of Ukrainian Nationalists elected to Ukraine's parliament in 1994 & in 1998. Not sure if/when he left the Banderite political party. In 2000 & 2001 he spoke at the first Center for US-Ukrainian Relations conferences in DC
#Thread re: Erin O'Toole, the new leader of 🇨🇦's Conservative Party, and the Banderites, as in members and fellow travelers of Stepan Bandera (1909-59)'s Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists, which collaborated with the Nazis during WW2 and collaborates with 🇺🇦 neo-Nazis today.
This article I wrote for the Grayzone earlier this year was originally going to be focused on O'Toole until I realized the Banderites' ties to the Conservative Party went way beyond him. Since then I've learned significantly more about the OUN in Canada. thegrayzone.com/2020/03/26/can…
Erin O'Toole's ties to the Banderites may have begun here, and in particular his "terrific" friendship with Ihor Kozak, a fellow graduate of the Royal Military College of Canada and in fact the first immigrant from the former Soviet Union to do so.
The letter was written by Ihor Michalchyshyn, CEO of @ukrcancongress (UCC). As @mariedanielles wrote in this 2017 article, "Michalchyshyn rejects outright ... any insinuation that Ukrainians collaborated with Nazi Germany during the Second World War." nationalpost.com/news/canada/uk…
The UCC's letter to @OttawaCitizen starts by accusing @davidpugliese of propagating "the narrative...that Ukrainians in general...are 'fascists' & 'Nazis.'" Obviously he did no such thing. But what about those insisting vandalism of a Waffen-SS memorial is an anti-🇺🇦 hate crime?
