Update on #coronavirus cases at the @SDConventionCtr shelter: A mayor's office spokeswoman tells me 115 shelter residents have now tested positive since last Thursday, up from 74 on Monday. A total of five staff have also tested positive.
Nearly 1,170 #coronavirus tests have been given since last Thursday and testing is continuing.
There have been a total of 147 postive tests among shelter residents and staff working at the @SDConventionCtr shelter since it opened in April.
The county confirmed yesterday it is conducting contact tracing on @SDConventionCtr cases. As of Wednesday, 831 people were staying at the shelter.
Some happier news: @SDMayorsOffice reports that 872 homeless San Diegans that have stayed at the @SDConventionCtr shelter, @pathpartners' downtown shelter and @FatherJoes Paul Mirable Center - all considered part of Operation Shelter to Home - have moved into housing since April.

I’ve been getting (and asking) lots of questions about #covid cases at the @SDConventionCtr shelter & the status of the county's hotel program.
No new @SDConventionCtr#s to share (yet) but as of Wednesday, 115 shelter residents had received positive tests in the last week.
Here’s the latest I can share on @SanDiegoCounty's hotel program: The county says it now has access to 804 hotel rooms it can offer people who have covid/have been exposed who don't have a safe place to isolate or who are particularly vulnerable homeless San Diegans.
Chief Nursing Officer Denise Foster told me that, as of this morning, 387 people were staying in the county’s two covid hotels and 292 were homeless. This includes dozens of homeless San Diegans who tested positive for covid or were exposed at the @SDConventionCtr shelter.
Earlier this year, @ToddGloria proposed a bill to add teeth to requirements that Prop. 63 money be spent. AB 2843 ultimately died in the Assembly. More on that effort (3rd sec): voiceofsandiego.org/topics/governm…
