1. Dear all. Fundraising & execution is a draining job. It takes its toll, that is why we worked to formalize the Citizens Initiative as a non-profit corporation. The Covid pandemic caught us while in the process and we have had to move with speed. For transparency purposes...
2. CI was incoporated in Ohio , USA and the board is made up of the following pple:

3. There is really nothing extraordinary about any of the pple in the board except they are pple who have supported previous initiatives, have a heart to help and care about the goals of the Citizens Initiative. We believe in less red tape, accountability and transparency
4. The Covid-19 initiative is there to complement the efforts that are there already. Citizens want to help and we are just providing a conduit for collective action. We all have individual thoughts but I have to reiterate, CI is non-partisan & will not tolerate any interference

1. I'm writing this thread because I am frustrated by MDC's lack of impetus on this. After the 2013 election MT was trying to figure out how to rejuvenate the party. He was frustrated that the Scientific Organizing had failed. I had been a major proponent of data-driven decisions
2. Had a phone call in 2014 with the Treasurer Theresa Makone & MT wherein I explained the whole concept & the infrastructure needed. The party was supposed to know its members by every data point necessary. MT argued it was going to be expensive, I told them will do it for free.
3. It was 2 pronged. A membership registration portal & manual data capture of every person who attended MT's national rallies. MT took the matter to the National Council and Obert Gutu was tasked to publicize. The central figures were supposed to be Obert, Theresa & Doug.

1. Waiting for 2023 is a total waste of time. ZANU PF does not care whether they win or lose they would still rule by force. In 2018 as @PacheduZW we uncovered gross manipulation of the voters' roll. ZANU wld just say it is minor or they out-rightly ignored it.
2. We went to an election with a very flawed Voter's Roll with more than 600 000 ghost voters. We raised this alarm but there were too many pple invested in this. MDC was confident it would win outright, diplomats had funded the elections & did not want to take the fall , ignored
3. When the results were released it was apparent that vote stuffing had taken place. Previously we had alerted MDC of the risky polling stns to watch esp in Mat. ZANU realised this & resorted to vote stuffing in Mtre North. V23B for these constituencies were never made public Image

1. Over the past 3 days we were in Masvingo province. We saw 763 patients. People are ill and the drugs are way beyond pple's reach. This has been compounded by the prospects of drought. The stories are harrowing. You have malnourished kids and elderly who are stressed heavily
2. We have been trying to assist pple with chronic illnesses with supplies for at least the next 1-2 months. I just wanna thank folks who have enabled us through donations. I know you underestimate what your dollars mean, but if you see the hope it gives you wld think twice
3. We have to prepare for the drought NOW! Harrowing stories of how livestock is dying. An old man lost 14 of his 18 beasts. Finally, I am a bit disappointed in the way both political and professional leadership operate in Masvingo. Leadership should enable not be a bottleneck.

1- they said covid is a hoax.
2- I called, 38 seconds into the call they asked me for money.
3- I asked if they have free meals resources, the guy put me on hold and hang up.
I am going to call them again and ask them to pray with me for toilet paper, faster amazon deliveries and a special prayer for someone with a hoarding issue ( @VodkaMuse ) I may record and tweet if I can tweak the voice thing.
$300,000 package minimum commitment to run that many spots.
@Franklin_Graham, I am assuming it is a $2 million blitz campaign with all the networks, online and radio.

Unlike #USA+#Europe, #Pakistan is right next door to two epicenters of #COVIDー19 spread: #China & #Iran. China was initially late but later took impressive steps to contain the spread, incl quarantining #Pakistani citizens. Unlike Iran where Pk citizens visited in large numbrs.
What steps did PM #ImranKhan take for a #CoronaFreePakistan when it was obvious #Pakistan faced #COVIDー19 spread threat from #Iran; & when it became obvious that almost every neighbor incl #Iraq+#Turkey+#Gulf traced 1st cases to Iran & when #Tehran failed to warn neighbors?

Here’s the thing. Years and years of fake news and sensationalist journalism and people panicking over dumb shit on Twitter made me think everyone was overreacting about Coronavirus and that I just needed to be cautious and sensible when going out. Unfortunately, I was wrong.
Living in the UK, where nothing was being done about it, reinforced my belief that it wasn’t a big deal. But I’ve since remembered that the UK government are absolute idiots, so that argument doesn’t work anymore. I mean we’re talking about Boris fucking Johnson here.
Also, as someone with anxiety, I have to filter the news a little bit, and take it in small doses and with a large pinch of salt. So I don’t have a ton of news apps on my phone and wasn’t seeing the full extent of the crisis elsewhere. However, I was quietly keeping an eye on it.

A back-of-the-enveloppe thread on the spread of #COVIDー19:

1) HUBEI province (ca 60 million people) has had close to 3000 deaths. It still has an active caseload of ca 20 K patients & some 130 new cases a day, & ca 30 daily deaths. So I expect up to 3500 deaths, assuming...1/9
...a winding down of the epidemic there by end March. If,stress IF, the rest of the world became like Hubei (0.8%of world population), the death toll could be of ca 400 K with a cumulative number of cases of ca 8 million.This possibly sets the outer bounds of a Covid pandemic 2/n
Of course, active measures in the world may prevent Hubei-scale outbreaks so this is unlikely to happen (conversely, late but tough measures in Hubei have also limited Covid's spread in that province).
