📺 Watch @NicolaSturgeon's live press briefing on the latest #COVID updates in Scotland.

👇 Tune in now: bbc.co.uk/iplayer/live/b… Image
📢 @NicolaSturgeon: "There were 734 positive COVID cases reported yesterday, which represents 7.6% of all tests carried out yesterday - and takes the total number of confirmed cases now to 106,904."
📢 @NicolaSturgeon: "There are 1,012 people currently in hospital, which is a decrease of 3 from yesterday - and 46 people are intensive care, one fewer than yesterday."
📢 @NicolaSturgeon: "No additional deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours.

I would though remind you that registration offices tend to be closer over the weekend, so the figures reported from Saturday and Sunday are often artificially low as a result of that."
📢 @NicolaSturgeon: "Since last Friday's update, 41 deaths have been registered - which takes the total number of deaths under the daily measurement to 4,111.

That figure reminds us again why we really need to keep this virus under control."
📢 @NicolaSturgeon: "This virus is causing heartbreak to families across the country, and I want to again send my deepest condolences to those who suffered loss as a result of COVID."
📢 @NicolaSturgeon: "Tomorrow, as I do every week, I will make a statement to Parliament on the latest review of the COVID protection levels."
📢 @NicolaSturgeon: "The first issue I want to update on is that from today, the Protect Scotland app can now be downloaded by any secondary school pupil - previously, you had to be at least 16 to download the app and have it on your phone."
📢 @NicolaSturgeon: "Protect Scotland has already been downloaded by more than 1.7 million people across the country. By downloading the app, you are helping to control and mitigate any outbreaks - and that will be particularly important over the holiday period."
📲 Download the Protect Scotland app to protect yourself, your loved ones, and help stop the spread of COVID.

Over 1.7 million people have already done so - and the more of us do, the safer we can all be. It takes just two minutes to download. 👇

First Minister @NicolaSturgeon: "Good afternoon, everyone. Thanks for joining us today. I'm going to start with the usual update on the statistics."
NS: "Before I do that though, I need to point out there has been a technical issue with our reporting systems overnight which means today's figures might be slightly lower than we would expect."
NS: "And of course, that means figures over the next day or two might be a wee bit higher than usual, as it might be the case that some cases that should've been reported today will be included in the figures for the next couple of days."
