.@Ianblackford_MP: “Mr Speaker, In the last few hours, the President of the European Commission said that the ‘next few days are going to be decisive’ in the Brexit negotiations.”
.@Ianblackford_MP: “With just two weeks to go, it is a disgrace that businesses and people have been left with this crippling uncertainty and the real threat of food and medicine shortages ahead of the new year.”
.@Ianblackford_MP: “One year ago, at the general election, Scotland rejected this Prime Minister, rejected this Tory Government and rejected their extreme Brexit.
People in Scotland now need to know the price they will be forced to pay.”
.@Ianblackford_MP: “Ahead of any vote in Parliament, will the Prime Minister commit to releasing a detailed economic impact assessment of the cost to the UK of his extreme Tory Brexit plans?”
.@Ianblackford_MP: “I’m not surprised the Prime Minister didn’t want to answer the question because he knows the UK is poorer and worse off as a result of the extreme Tory Brexit, and the cost continues to soar.”
.@Ianblackford_MP “The Warwick study estimates Scotland has already lost £4bn as a result of Brexit. Bloomberg Economics estimates the UK has lost £200bn by the end of this year. And Scottish Government analysis estimates every person in Scotland will be £1,600 worse off.”
.@Ianblackford_MP: “Scotland has been completely ignored by Westminster throughout the Brexit process - and now we are being kept in the dark over the devastating price we will be forced to pay.”
.@Ianblackford_MP:”People in Scotland aren’t willing to suffer the consequences of this economic vandalism.
Sixteen consecutive polls have shown a majority independence and Mr Speaker it’s little wonder.”
.@Ianblackford_MP: “Isn’t it as clear as day, that the only way left to protect Scotland’s interests and our place in Europe is to become an independent country?”

First Minister @NicolaSturgeon: "Good afternoon, thank you for joining us. I'll give you some warning in advance - my update is going to be slightly longer than normal today because I've got a few updates I'm going to cover."
NS: "I'm also going to touch a little bit on Christmas, which I know is of huge interest to everyone. But firstly, as usual, I will cover today's statistics."
NS: "There were 689 positive cases reported yesterday, which is 5.9% of the total number of tests and means that the total tally of confirmed cases now is 108,438."
First Minister @NicolaSturgeon: "Earlier today, the Cabinet concluded the weekly review of the levels of protection for each local authority area.
I will shortly confirm the outcome of that review in detail."
NS: "However, in summary, I can confirm that no local authority will move to level 4 this week.
However, 3 local authorities that are currently in level 2 will move to level 3 from Friday.
All other local authorities will remain in the same level as now."
NS: "I had previously indicated that this week’s review would be the last one before Christmas, with the next scheduled review taking place on Tuesday 5 January."
📢 @NicolaSturgeon: "There were 734 positive COVID cases reported yesterday, which represents 7.6% of all tests carried out yesterday - and takes the total number of confirmed cases now to 106,904."
📢 @NicolaSturgeon: "There are 1,012 people currently in hospital, which is a decrease of 3 from yesterday - and 46 people are intensive care, one fewer than yesterday."
First Minister @NicolaSturgeon: "Presiding Officer, I will shortly set out the conclusions of the Scottish Government’s weekly review of the allocation of levels of protection to each local authority area."
NS: "But, I will start with a brief summary of the statistics.
The total number of positive cases reported yesterday was 754.
That's 7.3% of all tests carried out, and takes the total number of cases to 95,811."
NS: "1,021 people are now in hospital – a decrease of 20 from yesterday.
70 people are in intensive care, 5 fewer than yesterday."
📢 NS: "A very happy St Andrew’s Day to all of you. Scotland shares our patron saint with countries like Greece and Romania. That is a small but timely reminder of our interconnectedness and shared humanity." #SNP20
NS: "These connections run deep in the ethos of our party.
The SNP is the party of independence. We want Scotland to take her place as an equal, independent country. To be in the global family of nations, playing our part in building a better world." #SNP20
NS: "Our vision is open, internationalist and outward looking. These values should never be taken for granted. The last few years have shown us that." #SNP20
First Minister @NicolaSturgeon: "Good afternoon, everyone. Thanks for joining us today. I'm going to start with the usual update on the statistics."
NS: "Before I do that though, I need to point out there has been a technical issue with our reporting systems overnight which means today's figures might be slightly lower than we would expect."
NS: "And of course, that means figures over the next day or two might be a wee bit higher than usual, as it might be the case that some cases that should've been reported today will be included in the figures for the next couple of days."
