#StopRacism CEO of Japan’s #DHC mocks its rival company #Suntory in a public statement for using Korean figures in their ads saying they’re ridiculed as “Chontory” on the internet. ‘Chon’ is a derogatory term for Koreans. Imagine this statement being released this year, in 2020.

“Chon” is derogatory term for Koreans living in Japan (‘zainichi’ Koreans) but is considered an all-encompassing term to denigrate ALL Koreans (and is used as such). You can say DHC took the risk to lose the Korean market. All Koreans are entitled to boycott DHC for this outrage.

Translation: “Somehow, the personalities used in Suntory’s ads are almost all Korean-Japanese. For this reason, they appear to be ridiculed on the internet as Chontory. DHC [on the other hand,] is a pure Japanese company including all personalities who are all Japanese.”

As this person has rightly pointed out, not only the Koreans but Japanese nationals as well as any other nationals who are offended by this outrageous statement are entitled to boycott and lodge protests against the racist company CEO. Something must be done to correct this.

FYI: According to a TPC marketing survey in 2019, sales volume-wise #SuntoryWellness has the top share with17% while #DHC lags far behind with 7.4%. So although DHC CEO relied on satisfaction survey, the market is already in favor of Suntory. netshop.impress.co.jp/node/8269

According to TPC report, which was released just last week, Suntory's share has risen by 8 percentage points since last year with successes in its "TV commercials and newspaper ads". It seems like their Sustainability Policy and Diversity clauses are really paying off.
