NEW: Subpoenas have been issued to CDC director Redfield and Health Secy Alex Azar from the @COVIDOversight Committee, citing concern over the Trump admin's political interference in over a dozen public health reports on Covid-19.

Chairman of the special oversight committee @WhipClyburn has given @CDCDirector and @SecAzar until Dec. 30 to produce all requested documents - unredacted.
From Clyburn: "Documents show that HHS officials also attempted to muzzle CDC scientists by retaliating against career employees who provided truthful information to the public & targeting CDC staff w/what one employee described as a “pattern of hostile and threatening behavior."

The response from @COVIDOversight ranking chair, Republican Rep. Steve Scalise to these subpoenas:
Worth noting, objectively, two facts: 1) The @COVIDOversight committee was created for the sole purpose of investigating fraud related to the pandemic and 2) The Trump administration has a documented history of engaging in or directing obstruction and abuse of power.

Now: Incoming White House Senior Advisor and Director of the Office of Public Engagement @RepRichmond has tested positive for Covid-19.

According to Biden transition spokeswoman Kate Bedingfield, the interactions Richmond had with @JoeBiden happened "in open air, were masked and totaled less than 15 consecutive minutes, the @CDCgov timeframe for close contact.

The difference in transparency here is really something.
Per Bedingfield:
Richmond's symptoms cropped up on Dec. 16, he took a rapid test that came back positive.
The Biden team's standard protocol after an initial positive test is to take a PCR, which he did on Thursday.

#BREAKING: The FDA advisory board has voted to authorize the Moderna Covid-19 vaccine for emergency use. More on this in my report soon for @CourthouseNews.
To be super clear on this because the language is subtle and easily confused - and something that came up during today's hearing - This is the advisory panel that has agreed to emergency use approval, the final approval comes from the FDA and that is expected over the weekend.
DEVELOPING.
A second Covid-19 vaccine was recommended for emergency use by advisers to the Food and Drug Administration on Thursday, meaning distribution nationwide could start as soon as next week.

DC will never have pizza at the quality of NY. Sorry. I say this as a native Washingtonian. NY rules them all. Stop trying. You can't do it. Like bagels or egg creams, DC, this isn't you, honey.
Now! If you want a stale pretzel from a sidewalk cart wildly overpriced and ice cold- no one does it better than Washington.
DC pizza shop owners - prove me wrong and serve me free pizza until I have decided whether to admit my error. I'll need to bring a friend for research purposes.

Today: The FDA advisory panel will hold a day long hearing and then vote on whether to recommend the approval of Moderna’s covid's vax for emergency use. If so, then it will be the 2nd vax approved in the U.S. (Vote expected to be a yes)

Today, the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee meets for a hearing on the integrity of the 2020 election.

.@GaryPeters, after chair Ron Johnson delivered a minutes-long remark claiming fraud, without evidence, in the 2020 election (that echoed much of the same rhetoric from President Trump):
Entered into the record by Peters in this morning's hearing, was a log of the 60 failed attempts in court by Trump to overturn the 2020 election.
