3/ HR has the data that more than 50% of people who identify as Black categorize their experience at Google as negative. The only group at Google that has that distinction. Stats are similar at other #BigTech companies #DiversityandInclusion#DiversityInTech#ISupportBlackWomen
4/I have heard HR referring to Brown people as terrorists and one HR person tell me directly that a Black person 'played the race card' in a conversation on performance. That person is still employed. #DiversityandInclusion#DiversityInTech#ISupportBlackWomen
6/ If #BigTech believed Black Women this silencing, firing and marginalizing would end. It's apparent they do not. They have data on the damage being done and they refuse to act with purpose and intention #whiteness prevents them from believing the data backed up by stories.
1/ I woke up thinking about #TimnitGebru and how #google and @JeffDean used the flimsiest of HR bullshit to fire her. And let's be clear, she was fired. How do I know this, because I have been on both sides of that situation. Here's how it's done #ISupportTimnit
2/ Say you have an employee that the company has deemed as problematic. In this case it's the person who speaks up at all hands calling out executives or post internally about racism/issues that highlight unequal treatment of #BIPOC#ISupportTimnit
3/ This employee is extremely good at their job. Thwarting any attempt to 'performance manage' them out of the organization. Some high ranking people undermine the employee with senior leadership including HR. HR gives guidance to leadership that is basically 'look for a reason'
1/ It is not easy being black at #google. Today another googler (not a security person) physically tried to stop me from coming into the office. And it’s not the first time someone asked for my badge when it's visible and make physical contact with me #biasinbadging#google
My badge was hanging from my hip as usual and this particular 'Googler' followed me for at least 20 meters exhorting me to show my badge #google#biasinbadging
As I continued on my way they ran in front of me and attempted to physically stop me. As tried to make my way around them they continued to step in front of me. To be clear, I had not responded to their request for my papers, as my badge is clearly visible #google#biasinbadging
1/I rarely address you directly @jack however this time it's different. The meeting you had with the current President, whether you believe it or not, legitimizes the methods he uses on twitter. These methods include targeted harassment and abuse that results death threats
2/The statement attributed you “I believe that conversation, not silence bridges gaps and drives solutions” ignores the reality these conversations do not include women of color. It’s a monologue used to silence, intimidate and minimize the people who’s voices we need to hear
3/ No bridges have been crossed with the hate, propaganda and incitement of violence by this president. Hate, propaganda and lies that twitter disseminates and profits from.
