Let me teach you some basic math: R350,000 a year. After taxes you only get about R287, 225. Minus 12% for pension, take home is R257 565.
If you are not staying at home, rent can be about R4500/month. #stayhome
If you don't have medical aid already, R1700 minimum less maybe for hospital cover only...
Your new cash flow is R257, 565−(R54, 000+R1, 700×12) = R183, 165.
Need a car? used car (preowned) with an average car payment of R3, 500 and your insurance about R1, 500 (if you have never been covered by car insurance this value can be quite high, first time driver. So many other reasons.).
Don't buy a car yet... Please...
You didn't listen, your new cash flow is R233, 225 - 60 000 = R123, 165 a year.
Let's talk about food with a minimum of R2000 a month. Your new cash flow is = R99, 165. I did not even include clothes, takeouts, fuel, utilities, cell phone, bank fees etc.
And these expense amounts that I did mention are very conservative. Some of your predecessors bought a R6000 car with R3000 on insurance! Dont ask me how.
So the next time you want to apply for a credit card or add new expenses to your monthly budget, think about this thread.
I'm not done.
You only have R8 263,75 / month... That is your pay... That is the salary you tell your friends and family... NOT R30, 000... #Blacktax
Don't play yourself
Don't believe the hype!! Your cash flow is NOT R350, 000 a year, your cash flow is actually under R99, 165 a year. R8 263,75 per month, not 30, 000... You will wonder how in the world your paycheck is gone in less than 48 hrs every time you get paid.
Child.... No one cares
You HAVE to start your own business if you really want to prosper. It will be very hard to make it with a job, you are lucky to have a job but you might even need 2. If you don't know...now you know.
@akreana_ please Retweet my thread. Help new graduates. Please. Thank you.
I'm following everyone who Retweets this thread. You just saved a life...
I'll continue the thread with my personal story. These numbers are based on my salary working as a graduate civil engineer last year. I had to quit because it hurt. It felt like I was working to go to work
"I don't think everyone's path is entrepreneurship!" this is a response I got a lot yesterday.
Why is this something that people feel they have to point out? I'd think its common sense...
But, do people actually know what they are meant to do?
Not everyone is meant to be an entrepreneur for the sole fact that, not everyone unemployed right now is meant to be unemployed. Yet it is what it is. There is someone struggling to get a job month after month yet they know that thats where they should be...
Yes we are not ALL meant to be entrepreneurs, but also there is abundant evidence that people don't know what they are MEANT to be to begin with hence a booming business of Coaches... A booming business of people giving advice.
