Are @jidesanwoolu directives being enforced by @followlasg? How effective is public adherence to #COVID19 regulations and is @NCDCgov effectively building itself as a credible govt agency ?

Are govt MDA at the Fed, State & LG levels observing these protocols.

#threadPNG2050
Stopped at Domino's pizza #ikorodu to get pizza for my in-laws. Made use of the app so I only had to pick up. Got in to pick up and there was a crowd at there and at #Coldstone.

If the govt believes that #COVID19 is serious then why is it slack with enforcing it's protocol.
On my way to Ikorodu almost all the BRT's had 3 - 10% of commuters using their nose mask. In smaller buses almost no one wore nose mask. No @PoliceNG or @followlastma officer wore a nose mask.

I think private establishments enforce some of these regulation better than the govt
I have noticed that the banks, some places of worship, QSR and companies have a better #COVID19 protocol adherence than most Govt establishments.

The Govt should be the ones leading by examples, but at the Ogombo MCC people come into the hospital with out nose masks.
Which sector should have d tightest observance of these protocol, shouldn't it be d health sector? @DrEOEhanire

How can a lot of govt health centres especially PHc, MCC, General and federal hospital be lax on #COVID19 protocols?

How would Nigerians take them seriously?
The issue with the #CACOVIDpallatives was never dealt with since #EndSARS.

Till date the @nassnigeria has refused to acknowledge that some state governors withheld food interventions meant for low income earners and the poor.

No one has been questioned in a public hearing.
This impunity has been watched by Nigerians over and over again, and triggered d looting of these palliative though not justifiable.

Impunity of govt official has continued to erode d trust #Nigerians have in governance and triggered the hashtag #EndBadGoveranceInNigeria
The Coalition against Covid-19 (Cacovid) was a private sector task force partnering with @NigeriaGov (@DigiCommsNG) @NCDCgov @WHONigeria funded mainly by the private sector. With persons like @AlikoDangote @realFemiOtedola @alakijaofficial @TonyOElumelu @godwin_emefiele e.t.c.
With the calibre of persons in the Cacovid committees, there seems to be some reassurance that Nigerians were in good hands.

How come @mamaamuwo allegedly used palliative at her birthday and pictures proving this are available but neither @lshaofficial nor @nassnigeria have
handled this issue in away that reassures #Nigerians. The legislative arm at the FG and SG levels have been mute.

Also mute is @cacovidng and private sector philanthropists who are on the funding committee of @cacovidng.

Having faith in @NCDCgov is extremely difficult.
because every agency is seen through the same lens of distrust and impunity.

So I come back to my initial questions;

@jidesanwoolu directives on #COVID19 doesn't hold water because his govt isn't leading by examples by ensuring that all MDA comply.
I believe if @NGRPresident @jidesanwoolu and other 35 SGvnors enforce these protocols in all MDA with the requisite check and balances put in place to ensure compliance; that thi will greatly improve the odds in citizens compliance and hep to reduce the spread. #COVID19Nigeria
The question of public adherence to these protocol is greatly hinged on trust and after speaking with lots of #Nigerians the general believe is that the @NigeriaGov is creating a sense of fear so they can exploit #COVID19. They believe Gvnors want more money from the FG.
#CACOVIDpallatives is one those issues that make the citizenry believe that #COVID19 in Nigeria is a SCAM, that other countries have it but not Nigeria.

The Govt doesn't seem interested in redeeming it's image because the status quo seems more profitable.
The @NCDCgov mustn't relent in it efforts to inform everyone on the dangers of Not wearing a nose mask, social distancing and washing our hands regularly.

It can also put its communications especially video and audio in multiple Nigerian languages so understanding is achieved
The @Fmohnigeria shouldn't fold its hands wait for the US, UK, EU or Asia to come up with vaccines just to import them

Rather virologist and other scientists in Nigeria should begin research into why the virus had a low impact on West Africa, and a develop a cure for Africans.
None complainance of FG, SG and LGs MDA's to these protocols has not helped @NCDCgov build public trust or credibility.

In conclusion, d govt must lead by example, drive compliance in its MDA's and strengthen its institutions to eliminate and punish offenders.

Dear @solomon_rep,

I saw saw the proposed bill you presented at @HouseNGR. My question is simple: How is this bill going to change the ineffectiveness of the LGA? How will further disempowerment of the LGA get it closer to the people?
Has the @HouseNGR ever challenged State Gvnors for not releasing funds to their LGA? If Gvnors do not give the funds that a constitutionally the right of the LGA, how then do you think they will fund it when it isn't a constitutional tier of Govt? These should be how we think
We should ask questions first when a problem exists, after which we can investigate one state in each region, then you have the appropriate committee brainstorm on d best cause for action that gets governance to the people. This eliminates any short sightedness in pushing a bill
