So, I think I'm going to sum up my thoughts on the #TrumpTapes in a quick thread. I'm not going to go into their legality, I think other people will cover that better than I can.
I think this is a good thing, Trump is showing himself as he is.
It's painful to watch, it feels like our Democracy is on a knife's edge.
But our Constitution is strong, it's weathered tougher storms than Trump's tantrums.

I know that many family members and friends who have supported him in the past are seeing what he is. Many of them have told me that they cannot stand his post election behavior, and that was before these tapes.

Sure, there will always be the internet crazies, but I think in the long run its a good thing to have them out in the open.
If by now you haven't realized that Trump's claims of fraud were a grift, well, there probably wasn't much anyone could do for you anyways

Where do we go from here?
Those of us who see the dangers of Trumpism need to band together and make sure that we learned the lessons of the Trump era.
Divisive populism, whose purpose is to blame the other side, is a dangerous game to play.
5/
This isn't something limited to MAGAism, Democrats also play this game.
We need to reject the idea that politicians only work for the people who vote for them. Politicians work for all of us, right, left, center.
Post-Trump, it's our job to make sure they remember that.

Jenna is out here literally making things up in the Constitution. The Constitution has never been interpreted as allowing the VP to do anything but open envelopes.
Until they needed the Constitution to say something it doesnt.
