BREAKING—One hospital in Los Angeles County has begun care rationing by initiating “Crisis Standards of Care”, says NBC News. Triage team shall assess patients every day to ensure they are making, “effective use of scarce resources.”

2) As a former childhood Nebraska resident, and childhood immigrant who called Nebraska my first home in America.... this is utterly shameful of @GovRicketts. Do you not realize that the coronavirus doesn’t give a damn about visa status?!?! Virus will do its virus thing! 🤦🏻‍♂️ cmon!

2) In other words, what would bring down daily cases in half under the old common #SARSCoV2 strain down from 1000 to 500 cases a day, will instead yield a tripling of 3000 cases a day within just 2 weeks!!! Image
3) And this is just making a conservative gentle assumption of the *best case* scenario of +0.4 added to the R, not the +0.7, or even +0.9 mentioned by others.

2) the good news is that we don’t think the B117 variant from U.K. 🇬🇧 will escape the vaccine — little if at all. The concern is with the South Africa 🇿🇦 identified B1351 variant. Thread coming soon.
3) My other worry is with the election lines in Georgia today. Hope they aren’t epically long like before. The new B117 variant is 40-80% more infectious according to models.
