Since the #Bitcoin White-paper, we have unfortunately not seen widespread use of a "p2p electronic cash system" yet.

In part this is due to the inefficient interaction of #BTC with FIAT:

#Stellar solves this by allowing for easy tokenization of assets on 1 interoperable network. This allows atomic transaction like:

- Paying $XLM while my friend receives $USD
- Paying $USD while my friend receives $EUR
- Paying tokenized $BTC while my friend receives $USD

This means you can pay $XLM or any other asset, while your friend receives FIAT in his bank account in seconds.

When Central banks start to issue fiat on #Stellar, it will mean that the token endpoint of a transaction IS fiat. This will mean payments are even faster and easier.

So why is this exciting for $XLM?

When more Central banks, banks or remittance companies issue FIAT tokens on #Stellar, it will becoming increasingly more easy to spend $XLM.

Even if my friends want fiat, I can pay in the p2p electronic cash #Cryptocurrency, #XLM.

As the #Stellar network grows, there will always be users or entities that choose to pay with $XLM, as it's the only token that does not need trustlines. In a way you could say $XLM is the Bitcoin of the #Stellar network. With the advantage of interoperability.
