Precedent here of sending criminal referrals to FBI/DOJ is important. It's a vital tool at Congress' disposal that may need to get employed a great deal over next few yrs as we learn more about the misdeeds of the Trump era.

There are at least three live criminal investigations into Trump which can begin the afternoon of Jan 20th - the Stormy affair, CIA referral from Ukraine fiasco, and now Georgia.

Repeated pattern makes prosecution more likely.
Documenting potential crimes by Trump, his family and his staff helps create a record for any future prosecution or court activity. The more evidence of wrongdoing the more likely prosecution and conviction are.

If Trump isn't prosecuted for his repeated, egregious election law violations, "high crimes," it will represent an unacceptable break down of the rule of law.

Pattern here is critical - he has repeatedly cheated, repeatedly gotten caught.
As @RepAdamSchiff warned us, it would keep happening. And that is what's critical - system cannot look other way at repeated attempts to cheat, break US election law - these are crimes against America/it's people, serious crimes and need to be prosecuted.
Returning to my good friend @glennkirschner2 and his vital argument - if we don't prosecute election law crimes we are creating an systemic incentive for candidates to cheat with impunity. It is a serious matter, and we cannot look the other way.
A reminder that Trump was also caught breaking election laws regarding his foundation in 2016 - so he's now been caught breaking US election law four times - the Foundation, Stormy, CIA/Ukraine, Georgia.

Essentially the only strategy Trump has had to defeat COVID was to hope vaccines would come quickly. They have - but of course this godawful corrupt Administration had no plan for how people would actually get the vaccine.

An infuriating thread.
The Administration never established a federal response to COVID, despite all the federal tools they had been given - CDC, FEMA, HHS, DOD - to manage a crisis like this. There is no federal infrastructure, no command and control, no plan - just hope, pray states can manage.
The failure to establish a national and testing regime, with the feds working alongside the states in a single command and control structure, is haunting the vaccine rollout now. There simply is no federal system to oversee the vaccine rollout - it has never been established.

Trump's corruption of his pardon power taints McConnnell's judicial project for all time. A "Trump Judge" will connote corruption, a denigration of the rule of law, not its power. His 3 SCOTUS picks are stained - by him, and corrupt process all 3 used to ascend to the Court.
While exonerating criminals, murderers, traitors, Trump has rushed to put people to death at a rate not seen in generations. Why? Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, Coney Barrett - you want to be associated with this, for all time? A frenetic rush to kill people?
No one associated with Trump should be able to call themselves a "Justice." There is no justice here. Entire right wing legal movement exposed now as full of frauds, hucksters, cowards. It's all bullshit.

Don't think there has been enough attention given to how important the blueing of the heavily Mexican-American parts of the US - AZ, CA, CO, NM, NV, TX - have been to the Democrats in recent years.

The victories of Mark Kelly in AZ and John Hickenlooper in CO means that all 8 Senate seats in AZ, CO, NM, NV are now held by Democrats. In 2004 Dems held 2 of these 8 seats.
