#SCOOP A person familiar w/case tells @CBSNews the leader of the Proud Boys - Enrique Tarrio - was arrested shortly after leaving DCA (in a vehicle) on a charge of destruction of property (misdemeanor) connected to the burning of a BLM banner/flag from DC church. He is being
booked by MPD + because it is a misdemeanor, he will most likely be released as early as this evening. Hate crime charges were considered, however the person familiar said, there was a lack of evidence to support those charges. The source said the destruction of
property charge was brought + under seal. On timing, the source said the arrest was not related to the pending demonstrations, rather directly related to Tarrio's return to DC and his alleged past conduct.
