Don't wear babies tight-fitting shoes.
Don't wear babies tight-fitting shoes.

They don't walk for the first few months, so such shoes are useless. Using yarn boots or loose socks is enough.

Wearing babies tight shoes or tight socks can cause ingrown toenails.

Pass on!
Children, adolescents & teens are particularly prone to having ingrown toenails from tight-fitting footwear.
That's because they tend to outgrow their footwear quickly.

Crowding their feet into tight socks & short shoes can cause painful ingrown toenails which may get infected.
Even adults who constantly wear tight-fitting shoes are at risk of having ingrown toenails.

So it's advised that people wear loose socks & better-fitting shoes.
E.g. you shouldn't struggle with socks or shoes before you put them on. If you do, they are probably too tight.
The fact is many people - parents and caregivers alike - are not aware that tight-fitting footwear can cause ingrown toenails.

They keep buying and wearing their kids tight-fitting shoes especially on big occasions. This is wrong.

ECTOPIC PREGNANCY

A woman just lost her life due to ectopic pregnancy!

It's a pregnancy in which the embryo attaches outside the womb. It can be life-threatening.

But we can save lives by helping educate women on our Timelines with this.

THREAD 🧵
In the human body, a fertilized egg hardly survives outside the womb. If allowed to grow, it may damage nearby organs & cause severe blood loss.

The bulk of ectopic pregnancies occur in/along the Fallopian tubes.

Some in the ovaries, cervix or a random location in the abdomen.
The usual symptoms of ectopic pregnancy a woman may experience esp. in early pregnancy are;

* Abdominal pain
* Vaginal bleeding, &
* Amenorrhea (missing your period)

Other pregnancy symptoms like breast fullness & occasional nausea may be there too.

The rate at which young people are coming down with Hepatitis B is alarming!

1. Use condoms

2. Don't share sex toys/needles

3. Use latex dental dam/condoms in oral sex

4. Screen for STIs & discuss results with partner before sex

5. If infected, see your doctor!

Share this!
6. Get vaccinated against Hepatitis B.

I don't know if we're not creating enough awareness on Hepatitis B or people ain't heeding our advice.

But we have to fight down viral hepatitis. It's getting too common in the society.

Help us share this to people on your timeline.
Note that Hepatitis B vaccination is only for people who have not been infected.

If you're infected, you need to take Hepatitis B antiviral drugs, not the vaccine.

In short, BOTH partners shouldn't have a 'C' and/or 'S'!

RT for awareness
A person with AS or AC has sickle cell trait, while one with SS or CC has the disease.

Some SC patients develop 'Hemoglobin SC disease' a type of sickle cell anaemia.

But they often have fewer crisis & live longer (average lifespan of 65 yrs) compared to SS patients (48 yrs).
Some of you might have found love during this festive season and are contemplating tying the knots in marriage.

Knowing your genotype compatibility as partners is extremely crucial.

HOW TO CALCULATE A PREGNANT WOMAN'S DUE DATE

1. Know the first day of your last menstrual period (LMP).

2. Count forward 9 calendar months from the LMP.

3. Add 7 days & 1 year to the date. That's your due date! See examples below...

THREAD 🧵

{Share to who needs this!}
If your cycle is normal 28 days, your due date or expected date of delivery (EDD) is around 40 completed weeks.

This is 280 days or 9 months from the first day you saw blood in your last menstruation (i.e. your last menstrual period, LMP)
If your cycle is longer than 28 days, add the difference between your cycle length & 28 days to your calculated date to compensate.

If it is shorter than 28 days, subtract the difference from your calculated date to compensate.
