So considering the attempted coup currently happening in Washington DC, I figured that it might be interesting to see how far-right extremists are reacting.
I'll start with Telegram. /1
In totally not surprising news, Faith Goldy is pickled tink. Probably brings fond memories of Charlottesville back to her. /2
Both Northern Dominion and Canada First (formerly Proud Boys) are upset that conservative politicians are denouncing the violence while also adding some antisemitism for a bit of spice. 4/
Edmonton's own Win Nay is growing increasingly excited about the Trump rally in Washington this January 6.
He's also excited about the prospect of mass arrests of people opposed to Trump and/or civil war.
Because, you know, that's totally normal. 1/7
Win is referring to what is being claimed as a 7 miles (or 11 km for the metrically inclined) convoy originating in California that is Washington DC bound in support of the outgoing president. 2/7
The same photo is being hared all over social media as irrefutable proof of the support that soon-to-be ex-president Trump really has and that these fine "patriots" will prevent Biden from assuming the office on January 20. 3/7
The big news in American politics today was the revelation that Trump attempted to intimidate Georgia election officials to overturn the election and give the state to him. #TrumpTapes
When you think there is no bottom, Trump finds a shovel. 1/12
Not at all surprisingly, the fact that the only documented example of the massive election fraud Trump was claiming was actually committed by Trump hasn't swayed his supporters.
It is at this point that I think we are well past the point where we can label this as a cult. 2/12
Point in fact, Trump has been promoting an event in Washington on January 6, the day after the Georgia senate elections. The "stop the steal" rally is intended to both stroke his ego and further cast doubt on an election he decisively lost. 3/12
As I see that Andy Ngo is still trending I thought I would share my brief, though enlightening, encounter with the man.
People who have followed this account will be well aware that I was doxxed in early January 2020. 1/24
After I was doxxed, I posted a final entry to the blog before turning it fully over to @VestsCanada. 2/24
While I received an outpouring of support and thanks from people who had followed the blog for years, there were a small number of individuals who attacked me.
It has been 11 days since Donald Trump lost the presidential election and his supporters, including his Canadian admirers, are continuing to take the news poorly. 1/23
As the reality of his loss has become apparent, the most extreme continue to retreat into a fantasy world where their echo chamber is their truth. 2/23
If it is at all possible, the claims being made by those who have not, and likely will never, accept Trump's resounding defeat have become even more outlandish. 3/23
This past month @antihateca (on whose board I now sit) received a substantial grant from the Canadian government. This was in addition to the very generous donation given to us by BMO. 1/16
While you can imagine what we were pleased us punch, the bad guys are spitting mad. Among those who are a wee bit resentful is one Faith Goldy-Bazos who commented on this grant as she did the BMO donation from in June.
See if you notice the theme she is going with. 2/16
The first (and most minor) point is that Goldy's name is never mentioned by CAHN members as she has been deemed to be basically irrelevant as she screams into the void on Telegram and Parler. 3/16
