For those who missed @karol’s tweet last night, Twitter suspended me after I criticized @NYGovCuomo for denying NYC’s request to make vaccines available for senior citizens.
@karol@NYGovCuomo .@Twitter falsely claimed I was violating their rules against “abuse and harassment [which] includes wishing or hoping that someone experiences physical harm.” My tweet was explicitly doing the opposite; trying to protect NY’s most vulnerable from Cuomo’s deadly vaccine rules.
@karol@NYGovCuomo@Twitter Rather than agree to their demand to delete the tweet, I appealed. Twitter’s appeal process bizarrely limits you to 240 characters, which is hardly enough space to explain the stupidity of their Thought Cops.
@karol@NYGovCuomo@Twitter I suspected Twitter wouldn’t conduct the appeal process in good faith, but preferred being locked out over implicitly agreeing my tweet meant the opposite of what it did. They later confirmed my suspicion and denied the appeal.
@karol@NYGovCuomo@Twitter Twitter has thus once again established that its “rules" are merely cover to penalize accounts engaging in Wrongthink. As my tweet was clearly in defense of NY’s most vulnerable population, the only conclusion is that Twitter’s upset I’m criticizing Gov. Cuomo.
@karol@NYGovCuomo@Twitter I’ve thus deleted the tweet so I can bring forth this story about @Twitter engaging in the same shameful behavior it did pre-Election Day; manipulating its platform to protect the political interests of its favored politicians — even if that results in needless death & despair.
@karol@NYGovCuomo@Twitter BTW, the tweet below is what I was RTing. Whatever you do, don’t let Twitter know you think Gov. Cuomo has anything but the best intent by once again needlessly jeopardizing the lives of senior citizens
I don’t know what the correct terminology is for those who engaged in storming the Capitol yesterday, but CNN has settled on “terrorists” — having used it 31x thus far this AM.
Strikes me as yet another needless escalation. Terrorists use violence — particularly the mass death of civilians — to seek political ends. These people were anti-democratic hooligans, but they weren’t driving trucks through crowds or flying planes into buildings.
Much of this morning’s news coverage has focused on the role Trump’s rhetoric played fomenting yesterday’s uprising. But as usual, they’re completely lacking in self-awareness as they are themselves employing the most charged, incendiary rhetoric available. Why?
Federal govt opts against revising its obviously incorrect recommendation to consume sugar regularly wsj.com/articles/new-u…
These dietary recommendations — which shouldn’t exist in the first place — are one of the seldom mentioned reasons diabetes, heart disease, and Covid hit harder in minority communities
Just noticed the @USDA doubles down on its usual mistake of discouraging saturated fat — i.e., where vitamins and minerals are most densely concentrated — & encouraging vegetable oils, which cause heart disease. Why is America fat & disease ridden? A: The USDA.
The Woke Mafia is destroying a girl’s life because of a single word she said when she was 15 — which wasn’t even expressing a racist sentiment. And the NYT’s @globaldan is portraying the asshole orchestrating her destruction as a hero
@globaldan The supposed hero of the story comes across as angry and insecure while the supposed villain appears earnest and well meaning. He attacks his own (white) father, while she’s defended by her own (black) friends.
@globaldan The supposed good guy, Jimmy Galligan, purposefully sits on this 3 second video until he can inflict the most pain; she meanwhile had already apologized before he released it and it’d gone viral. She was even a #BlackLivesMatter supporter!
Lee was long celebrated as the greatest Virginian after Washington. He drew admirers across the political spetrum: Eisenhower, JFK, Lyndon Johnson, Jimmy Carter, Gerald Ford. Churchill called him "the noblest American"
