HORRENDOUS—Physician for US Congress sends a warning that the protective safe room for Members of Congress where tons of people were huddle together—had someone w/ #COVID19, and thus everyone possibly exposed. Everyone asked to get PCR test.

We knew this could happen. Horrible.
2) We knew something like this could happen. That’s why @LisaBRochester tried to hand out masks to everyone in the safe room.
3) I warned this entire Jan 6th insurrection day could be worse than Sturgis in terms of superspreading.
4) Pandemic does not take a break. MSNBC is reporting this Covid exposure to members of Congress and their staff too.

6) @PunchbowlNews video showed maskless Republicans — including Reps. @andybiggs4az (Ariz.), @RepCloudTX (Tex.), @RepMullin (Okla.) and @RepScottPerry (Pa.) — refusing masks offered by Democratic Rep. @LisaBRochester (Del.) while in the room.

Shameful.

2) FFP2 masks ensure 95% filtration and some brands even have 97% filtration in Europe. They are regularly handed out for free in many EU countries at free mass testing sites, but can be bought for just $2-3 typically, or even ~$1 by bulk. That’s cheaper than KN95 in US. #COVID19 Image

3) MS occurs when the immune system mistakenly attacks the protective myelin sheath that covers nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. Existing treatments work by systemically suppressing immune system. That can control MS, but it also leaves patients vulnerable to infections.

Pretty sure late 41-year old GOP Congressman-Elect Luke Letlow was also a “healthy adult” too.

And testing negative 2 days earlier is meaningless @mtgreenee in surging pandemic, especially unmasked.

And masks protect others. But now 75-year old @RepBonnie is infected. #COVID19
2) Also masks help protect again this kind of unknown infection and exposure from others who have yet to formally test positive.

SICKENING—Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman, a 75-year-old cancer survivor, has tested #COVID19 positive after taking shelter in a room, where many GOP refused to wear masks. She believes she contracted the virus while in protected isolation room. So avoidable.

2) We knew this could happen. Yesterday, Congress’s attending physician sent out a warning someone had Covid in the isolation room already.
3) Previously, a video surfaced showing GOP house members in that isolation room unmasked and mocking @LisaBRochester for trying to hand out masks.
