BREAKING—Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal (WA) has tested positive for #COVID19 virus after being sequestered for several hours during Jan 6th siege of US Capitol in a room w/ mask-less GOP colleagues. She got 1st vaccine dose just 2 days before the siege.🧵google.com/amp/s/www.thec…
2) After armed, pro-Trump insurgents stormed into the Capitol building on January 6, many congressmembers and their staffs were evacuated to a secure location; though over 100 people were crowded into a poorly ventilated room for hours, several of them refused to wear masks.
3) Rep Jayapal calls out GOP colleagues’ “selfish idiocy”
4) this comes just after another Congresswoman also tested positive in the exact **same** room!
5) it happened because someone was discovered to have had the virus in the protective safe room, they had warned yesterday.
6) In a video posted shortly after the attack, @LisaBRochester, can be seen trying to give masks while they’re locked down together during the siege. At least 6 GOP members can be seen in the video, posted by @PunchbowlNews, refusing the masks
7) about the vaccines — folks, they take up to ~14 days to fully kick in their effects. That is that time needed to “train” your immune system so that it can start working. And even then, the full 95% is only after the 2nd dose. Here is the P2 trial curves for Moderna vaccine.
8) Similarly, the Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine also takes at least 10 days, preferably 14 days before the immunity protection kicks in. And even then u need 2nd dose.
9) Bottomline on the mRNA vaccines—they do work if you give them 2 weeks to kick in their initial protective effects (at least 50% but likely up to 80-ish% w/ 1 dose after the 2 weeks). 2 days not enough. That’s why it’s so infuriating GOP unmasked members so callous.
10) If you’re wondering, gosh the Congress outbreak is so big, we need a tracker... well @bhrenton has got us covered. He’s also the creator of the earlier famed WH Covid Tracker.
11) More worrisome, and unable to be tracked yet, is this superspreading wave nationwide among rioters who return home.

I’m sure Hitler “learned a pretty big lesson” (as Collins would say) after Dec. 21, 1924 upon Hitler's release from prison.

ATROCIOUS big pharma price gouging of insulin:

This crying mother can’t afford the $1000 for her son’s insulin.

📌yet, it only costs pharma $5 to produce.

📌Insulin was invented 100 years ago by Fred Banting—who donated patent for $1 to make it free for all.

Let that sink in.

Today, UK 🇬🇧 reports 1,564 new #COVID19 deaths, biggest one-day increase on record.

UK is ~1/5th the population of US.

This would be equivalent to almost ~7800 deaths per day if U.K. is the size of US.
