#CJDSChat is occurring in t-minus ~3 hours, and I wanted to send along the specific policy sections I'm referring to so you can cue them up.

(Can you cue up a text??)
First up will be Section 2: laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/acts/A-0.6…
The fourth and final is Section 133: laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/acts/A-0.6…
That's all for now; I will start the chat from the earlier threads so 4 sections of the policy can be traced better.

See you soonish!
Hello folks! Tonight is the first #CJDSChat of 2021! @daniellelorenz (she/her) CJDS Knowledge Mobilization Editor & @UAlbertaEd PhD candidate here to facilitate #CJDSChat! *dances*
I hope everyone is doing as well as you can given the state of the world we are living in and living through right now. #CJDSChat
As with other chats, I want to begin tonight with the acknowledgement that what is currently called Canada is stolen Indigenous lands. Of the 11 (!) chats I have facilitated now, this is a statement, or a similar one, I have said in each #CJDSChat
The reason for this is important to me personally and pedagogically as someone who benefits from the ongoing oppression of Indigenous peoples as a result of settler colonial processes; (1/2) #CJDSChat
these processes subjugated Indigenous peoples as well as Black peoples, the latter being enslaved and used for their labour. We cannot forget how and why this impacts folk in the present. (2/2) #CJDSChat
With February being #BlackHistoryMonth, I want to feature Black disabled Twitter accounts from both individuals and groups. Please respond to this tweet specifically with folks whose words I can amplify.

You can PM me too, if you'd prefer.

#CJDSChat
To participate in the chat, please answer the questions I pose while interacting with the other folks who are in attendance: you do this using the chat hashtag (#CJDSChat).
If you forget, that’s okay (I have when I’ve been participating not facilitating). It may mean that it may be a little more difficult for folks to talk to you, is all. #CJDSChat
When answering a Q, please add the question number in your reply; this helps everyone track what you’re saying. To explain, I will give 2 punny examples (as I do). #CJDSChat
Q1: What did the cow say when she lost her mittens? #CJDSChat
A1: Where’s my udder one? #CJDSChat

Q2: Did you hear about the cat who ate a ball of yarn & got pregnant? #CJDSChat
A2: She had a litter of mittens. #CJDSChat
Additionally, you are under no obligation to answer a question I pose: please answer only what you feel comfortable with. #CJDSChat
If you happen to see the chat after it formally ends (*waves*), please tweet your responses too! We can always continue the conversation beyond that hour; and I’m happy to do so! #CJDSChat
Different in this chat than prior ones is that I will be adding quotations from the policy, which will follow the question.

#CJDSChat
The formatting for this will be (a) the question number as normal, (b) qt’n, and (c) the number of tweets needed to finish the quotation (x/y). #CJDSChat
This will look like the following.

Q42 qt’n (1/1): “This Act may be cited as the Accessible Canada Act.” #CJDSChat

(a) Question 42, (b) quotation, and (c) 1 of 1 tweets.
Alternatively, you can go to the Section of the Act if that’s easier for you. I write the section as S (for section) plus the number in square brackets.

This will look like the following:
How do we cite the ACA? The Act tells us [S1]. #CJDSChat
You may also go to the beginning of the thread, where I have listed and provided the links for the four sections of the Accessible Canada Act we'll be talking about tonight. #CJDSChat
There are 7 questions tonight, inclusive of the introduction question.

Aaaand off we go! #CJDSChat

Q5 qt’n (1/1): “Throughout Canada, in each year, the week starting on the last Sunday in May is to be known as National AccessAbility Week.”
Q6: How does the ACA make you feel with respect to the recognition of disability in Canada? #CJDSChat
Last question for tonight.

Q7: Do you have any other comments or critiques about the ACA you’d like to mention? #CJDSChat
Well folks, that's all she wrote.
#CJDSChat
A big thanks to @HannahntheWolf and @andmce for joining tonight (and @disabledphd for lurking)!

#CJDSChat
Next month @daniellelorenz (aka me) is your host once again. I will be talking about self-love and self-care.

And, because it's February, there may be about 24 hours of puns on one day. You have been (kinda) warned. #CJDSChat
Please feel free to respond in the coming hours and days to what has been already.

Take good care folks!

*scatters into a cauldron of bats*
