We might be witnessing an interesting legal debate in the days to come.

If the agitating farmers refuse to hold consultations with committee, then what will happen?

Can court force anyone to participate in consultation?

Will the agitation then be held in contempt of court?
Can the right to protest be conditional to persuasive role of the court?

In case of a stalemate, what is the role of the govt?

Will the stay on implementation continue even if agitating farmers’ don’t come to the committee?

If the agitation ends, what will happen to stay?
Can court cap the powers of women & elders to agitate in the name of compassion?

Can any organisation take or be given unilateral responsibility or accountability of any person willingly participating in protests?

What if women & elderly refuse to withdraw from protests?
Is it ok for courts to presume that women and elders are not participating on their own but someone else is responsible for their decisions?

The controversy on the two Indian covid vaccines is a direct consequence of the lack of credibility of this govt’s decisions.

When unscientific assertions, impulsive decisions, impure data are integral to any govt’s public policy, then all public policies become questionable.
Vaccinating 138 crore won’t be easy. India has successful experience of polio eradication recently and many more in past. Infact, polio vaccine was an oral one, didn’t require trained manpower. Yet it was humongous task and took meticulous planning and execution. 2/n
Covid vaccination is an even more daunting task. The scale of pandemic called for emergency responses in vaccine development, in inventory management and in delivery mechanism. Routine administrative responses would never deliver. Everyone understands it.
Had the govt....

SC scholarship for 60 lakh students stopped.

Modi govt says, क्या करें, states r discontinuing or scaling it down since 2017-18

What an excuse!
Wasn’t it Modi govt tht starved states of funds by reducing centre’s contribution from 60% to 10%
Aren’t most states are ruled by BJP!
In 2017-18, Finance Ministry formula under 12th Finance Commission brought down Center’s contribution down from 60 % to 10%.

Interestingly, it is the only centrally sponsored scheme that does not follow 60:40 formula.
All India Post Matric Scholarship began in 2008-09.

Up until 2017-18, the scholarship was fully sponsored by the Centre

In April 2018, states were asked to share the scholarship, under the condition of ‘committed liability’.

India didn’t hv enough food or milk to feed it’s population in 70’s

Today, India is world's largest producer of milk, pulses, jute

2nd in rice, wheat, sugarcane, groundnut, veg, fruit, cotton

Among top in spices, fish, poultry, livestock & plantation crops
How did it happen?1/n
Today India is world’s third largest economy. It is now an industrial and service sector economy. Agriculture is 16% of GDP.

In 1947, it was one of the poorest and agriculture was over 50% of GDP.

How did this happen?
2/n
Is it because agriculture growth post 70’s enabled rural population to study and participate in other sectors?

Did the wealth generated by Agri-revolution help in growth of other sectors?
