#ReopeningSchools To clarify for private schools that have opened, the dept has engaged with the private schools' sector to persuade them to close and open in Feb. Those meant to open next week, also will be persuaded, but dept can't enforce on them.
#ReopeningSchools With regards to ECD centres (daycares), they say that if centres feel they are ready and have protocols in place, they are allowed to open and will not be held back especially because parents need to go back to work. ECD centres fall under Social Dev Dept.
#ReopeningSchools With regards to the payment of school fees for January, parents still have to pay even though schools will remain closed.
