My Lockdown takeaways from Week 2 - 1. Staff Wellbeing - Being apart, doesn't mean we can't support each other or be together. At lunch times set up a zoom for those you may normally catch up with, share your experiences. Try to make your day as normal as possible. #teacher5aday
2. Journey time - if you usually have a 30 minute commute to work #getoutside and take a walk before your day starts. The fresh air, sounds of the birds and watching the sun rise can really set you up for a great day. Same at the end, walk, reset and unwind. Take time for you.
3. Be organised - we can all feel busy, but to be efficient be organised. @SFL2326 shared a great article today which l will summarise...a pianist will only play beautiful music if the notes are played in the correct order...make a list, set realistic goals for the day #wellbeing
4. Today l posted a message on our staff wellbeing channel - at the end of today post a thank you to a member of staff who has supported you this week. The #PositivityClub exploded and it was lovely to see so many messages being shared #Gratitude#wellbeing
5. Blended Learning - do what is right, for your students, you know them the best. If you prerecord lessons don't worry about mistakes...in a classroom you can't go back normally so why do it on your recording...it also gives your students a chuckle 🤣 #DancingLlama#wellbeing
6. Connect - I said it last week and will say it again, connect...with staff, students and parents. Speak to them and listen, listen to understand their worries, concerns and praise. Then share this with those that need to hear it #StrongerTogether
7. Exercise - honestly get outside, do an online class and get the blood pumping. I have seen a lot of people this week saying their back hurt. It will we are not designed to sit down all day, probably at poorly positioned workstations at home. Please #move#stretch#getactive
8. Look to the Future - this pandemic will not last forever so make some plans. I'm already working on a challenge for when the summer arrives and l can go back into the Welsh mountains 🏴 It will give you something to aim for and to move for because you will want to enjoy it!
9. Pastoral - speak to them, message them, share the non attenders but don't forget the #positivevibes. Many are making phone calls to families so give them something positive to say! Your students deserve to hear it and so do their families #PastoralCare
10. #Family - spend time with them, don't talk about work, you need time away from it and they need time with you. This could be in person or over facetime. Watch a film, play a board game, laugh. Your family need you at this moment so please be with them. #Togetherness#life
