2) Apparently it was an unmasked tournament because American Academy of Pediatrics deems masks a “choking hazard during wresting”. Oh FFS!!

And notice kids 0-13 had higher Attack rate than young adults and teens, % (no. positive/no. susceptible). Only elderly higher. #COVID19

5) “Outbreaks among athletes participating in high contact sports can impact in-person learning for all students and increase risk for secondary in-school and community transmission with potentially severe outcomes including death”

6) My god the local reporting is even worse— “Every school but one ended up with a positive case. We had 24 positive cases from one event, which was significantly higher than anything we’ve seen during fall sports,” said Polk County Public Schools senior athletics coordinator

8) “Just from Sunday night to Monday morning in about a 12 hour period, we’ve quarantined seven teams,” said Talbot

9) Polk County Public Schools announced it was suspending all school sports until Jan. 4 at recommendation of the Florida Dept of Health.

Talbot called it a “difficult decision”, but a necessary one.

Local health authorities reported the death of one adult contact aged >50 years.
