Study proved #glyphosate disrupts gut microbiome thru same route it kills weeds — inhibition of shikimate pathway. Humans & animals do not have the shikimate pathway, but some strains of gut bacteria do, leading to dramatic biochemical changes & oxidative stress, the study found.

@careygillam The biochemistry of the gut was altered dramatically. The researchers found the function of the gut bacteria was changed, leading to oxidative stress, which was also found in the blood.

Oxidative stress can damage organs, cells and DNA — an established risk factor for cancer.
