It seems that once you fall down the rabbit hole, you keep falling. Naomi’s tweet has brought out a host of familiar atrocity deniers, climate science deniers, anti-vaxxers etc, who are now determined to prove that Covid-19 is not a dangerous or widespread disease.
How does someone become a serial conspiracy theorist? Is it because one conspiracy theory opens the mental door to others? Or because it brings people into contact with the peddlers of multiple falsehoods? Whatever the explanation, it's an interesting phenomenon.
Over the past two days, I've been bombarded by people telling me that PCR tests are useless, fake etc etc. Many claim that "Kary Mullis said ..." or "the WHO said ...".
I checked out these claims, and discovered something extraordinary.

People who wouldn't know a PCR test if it bit them on the arse make grand claims which simply don't check out. They get everything wrong - even the names of the people they claim to be citing. Then they say "do your own research"! 
Something else that keeps happening:
Someone makes a wild claim.
You ask for a reference.
They respond: "I'm not doing your research for you".
