What happened on 1/6 wasn't "legitimate political disagreement". It was an insurrection. Armed people forced their way into the Capitol with the intent of overturning a Democratic election by use of force, and by all accounts at least SOME of them wanted to kill political rivals.
The events of 1/6 are a matter of fact. There is video evidence. There are eyewitnesses, including and *especially* the people who's lives were under threat. Claiming that we can "disagree" about those facts is bonkers. They aren't a matter of opinion.
"Gaslighting" is a term that gets overused and misused a lot these days, but what Batya is doing here is, actually, the definition of gaslighting. She is telling a person who lived through something that she can't trust her senses, that things aren't as she remembers.
And, as one final point:

And we're going to continue underestimating, we're going to continue allowing abusers to fly under the radar and get away with violence as long as we react to people talking honestly about their trauma the way AOC is.
Telling survivors that they are wrong, that they can't trust themselves because of their trauma is the exact opposite of what we should be doing. Trauma survivors are, in fact, *extremely* good at identifying abusers and their tactics. We should trust them.
