Let me just deconstruct and well, basically shred this comment to bits...

In the essay/thread "brain in a jar", I am discussing how neurobiological and psychological evidence shows that 'gender identity' is an innate part of the brain.

I isolate the brain, and the person within and pose...

...the question about the gender of that person. Starting at that point and working back through how we know gender identity (cis, trans, fluid and NB +) is part of the brain itself, not a conditioned thing.

Essentially I remove the body part of the equation for a reason.

This is because the brian develops later than gonad differentiation.

So you can and do end up with a brain set up differently to the "body". I.E. transgender people.

It is about the PERSON inside the BRAIN. Who are they? What do they identify with.

Forget the body.

Who are they?

So they not only missed the point, they focus on the body, on the cybernetics, anything except the person... the brain... the important bit.

If you have a brain that has a female gender identity... YOU, the person... the being inside are female.

That isn't just fancy words... the neurobiology checks out too, with a number of correlations noted in studies.

These people ARE female.

So this "relabelling of the penis as female" statement is not saying a penis is a female thing... it is saying that people with female brains sometimes have bodies with penises.

The body and brain are not aligned. And that is OKAY.

You will note that TERF arguements always try to force the subject to body. Neurobiology be damned, intersex development ignored... if you have 'male' genitals you ARE and always will be male.

This is forced ignorance of the complexities of biology and the very thing that...

...trans people have to internally struggle against too- without TERF bullies piling in.

Some of us are okay with our bodies that do not align quite right. For some of us we would change if we could. For some of us, well... it kills.

Note this drivel then goes on to make suppositions about mens behaviour around the straw man they themselves set up. Of course dudes will brag about cool cyber tech... but what the fuck has that got to do with the subject we are discussing?

So there we have it. Completely dodged the point. Focused on and fixated on our genitals (surprise) and only our genitals. Set up a straw man as they cannot attack the actual information given.

Let's talk 'brain in a jar' transgender theory.

Okay, so say you are a cisgender male and you get a bionic arm. You are still male.

Lets keep swapping bits out. Cyber eyes- male.
Cyber legs- still male.
Cyber penis- yep, male.

The fact is, you will see yourself as a cisgender male no matter how much of your body is missing or replaced.

Why is that? Because gender identity exists in your brain.

I left the university annoyed at the empty, blood sucking nature of it all. So did another girl.
