A glimmer of hope:

FINALLY FULL RECOGNITION !!!
#COVIDisAirborne

Fiona Bruce:
"I`m a Doctor in Melbourne vaccinations alone are not going to be enough"

"we need input from occupational hygienists, aerosol experts and ventilation engineers"
"why is there not national guidance which accepts the reality that airborne transmission is an important mode of spread for this virus and adopts the precautionary principle to protect workers from the airborne spread of this virus with fit tested n95 masks and other measures."
Tony Blakely @TonyBlakely_PI

"you cannot deny that aerosol transmission is happening"
Dr Michelle Ananda-Rajah
@rajah_mich

"There's no debate"

"There has been clear and compelling evidence from the start of this pandemic. The Chinese from the get-go basically acknowledged this was aerosol transmission and it was based on their own experience with SARS."
"We're 14 months into this and we've had real lack of movement on acknowledging the fundamentals of disease transmission."

"If you don't acknowledge that this is spread through the air, through a mixture of droplets as well as aerosols"
"its a continuum you know you can't really slice where a droplet, what a droplet is and what an aerosol is. If you can't acknowledge it, you can't prevent it."
"First 6 months of last year"
"surgical masks"
"healthcare workers started falling like flies"
"it took hundreds and hundreds healthcare workers to get infected for hospitals to then introduce n95 respirators."

*Thank you Fiona Bruce

There will no doubt be many in your debt for asking the right questions at the right time.
*Dr Michelle Ananda-Rajah

Thank you for your bravery
Thank you for your professionalism
Thank you for your astute eloquence
Thank you for your compassion

Thank you for speaking on behalf of so many who lack the means

Thank you

There appears to be a glimmer hope after all.
ALL Governments need to Acknowlege, then move to enhance protection for their populations and workers.

"Airborne mitigation"

Initial focus for Doctors, Nurses, Teachers, Police ...
"any" frontline Keyworkers.
Hospitals, Schools (Adults and Children), Supermarkets, Warehouses,
...there is no end to this list until the pandemic ends.
#HumanRights

Article 2 of the Human Rights Act protects your right to life.

"It also means the Government should take appropriate measures to safeguard life by making laws to protect you and, in some circumstances, by taking steps to protect you if your life is at risk."
"Public authorities should also consider your right to life when making decisions that might put you in danger or that affect your life expectancy."

Trying to understand CO2 as a control.

I understand this is a simplification.
Q1

If: (background CO2) = (x)ppm "15 Students 1 Teacher"

If: control for infection risk is = +750ppm CO2

Room after 3 hours use =
CO2 meter reading rises to (x)+750 ppm

It is at this point:
CO2 meter reading =>"equal to or greater than"
(x)+750ppm that it becomes unsafe.
Q2

If so does it follow that using a 25ppm buffer

as long as:

CO2 meter reading =< "equal to or less than"
(x)+725ppm

it remains safe for as long as this remains so.

Catchphrase:

HEPA plus Ventilation "IS" the Facemask of the Classroom!

"Everyone needs to find a way to understand this"
This is a simplified version obviously:

*=Relative Effect of

"(Volume of Area)+(*Masks)+(*HEPA)+(*Ventilation)+(*Distancing)=(Room Time)"

(Distancing=(calculation of *Masks+*HEPA+*Ventilation)
Therefore in respect of School Classrooms:

"(Classroom HxWxL)+(*Masks)+(*HEPA)+(*Ventilation)+(*Pupil Spacing)=(Classroom Time)"

(Pupil Spacing=(calculation of *Masks+*HEPA+*Ventilation)

Would it be possible for a theoretical mathematician an expert in aerosole transmission and or ventillation to collaberate on the realtime effects of varying degrees of Ventilation vs Space Vs Children within a good safety margin in respect to classroom sizes and no. of students.
Some other parameters:
Air Changes and co2 monitoring.
Standard room sizes and cohort pupil sizes.
Volume of air in room (not all ceiling heights same.)
Movement to from classrooms. Length of lessons. etc.
A Cost benefit calculation could then be made in respect of price of equiptment vs cost to pupil numbers, education etc.

Or has this already been done addressed ?

Operational Strategy for K-12 Schools through Phased Mitigation

cdc.gov/coronavirus/20…
1. Consistent implementation of layered mitigation strategies to reduce transmission of SARS-CoV2 in schools
2. Indicators of community transmission to reflect level of community risk
3. Phased mitigation and learning modes based on levels of community transmission
"additional layers of COVID-19 prevention in schools:
• Testing to identify individuals with SARS-CoV-2 infection to limit transmission and outbreaks
• Vaccination for teachers and school staff, and in communities, as soon as supply allows
