The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri Prof. Francis Chukwuemeka Eze and his Management team has paid a courtesy visit to His Excellency
Gov. Hope Uzodimma at the Government House Owerri.
Prof. Eze who spoke on behalf of the team appreciated the governor and expressed joy over the leadership styles of the governor and his giant strides and accomplishments despite the meltdown occasioned
by the coronavirus pandemic.
He described Gov. Hope Uzodimma as Mr. Project and expressed his happiness on behalf of the university community over the Nekede-Ihiagwa road construction which has helped in ameliorating the pains suffered by both staff and students on that road as
as it is no longer the same as at today.
In his speech, Gov. Hope Uzodimma charged the academic community to continue raising the bar of academic standards in institutions of higher learning in the state.
Gov. Uzodimma made it clear that his administration is an all inclusive
one and disclosed that his government is open to innovations from the academic community.

Mali’s government has created a body to open talks with Islamist militants whose insurgency has made vast portions of the country ungovernable, the interim prime minister said on
Friday, in the face of objections by France.
A year ago ousted former president Ibrahim Boubacar Keita said his government was prepared to negotiate with al Qaeda-linked militants. National talks in the aftermath of the August coup that overthrew Keita endorsed that policy.
“Dialogue is not an exclusive solution, but rather an additional means of bringing back into the bosom of the Republic those who left it, often for existential reasons far removed from any fanaticism,” said interim Prime Minister Moctar Ouane.

Ousted leaders of the former ruling party in Ethiopia’s northern Tigray region, who have been on the run for more than three months, have issued conditions for peace talks.
The TPLF’s list of demands include:
• The withdrawal of Eritrean troops from Tigray. Both Ethiopia and Eritrea deny Eritrea's involvement in the Tigray conflict
• The withdrawal of other "invading forces". Amhara forces have also been fighting in Tigray, and are in control of
some areas.
• An independent inquiry in “ethnic cleansing” and the destruction caused by the conflict
• Access to the region for humanitarian aid to reach 4.5 million people who urgently need help
• The unconditional release of political prisoners
#Nigeria to sell 36 properties to finance 2021 budget
The Nigerian government is planning to sell a number of properties to finance its 2021 national budget.
The government has categorized 36 properties into five departments.
The Industries and communication department has 8
projects, Development institutions and Natural Resources departments have six projects, Energy has nine projects while the Development institutions and Natural Resources departments have six projects.
The projects are expected to be concessioned or sold between January 2021 and
November 2022.
A number of properties have already been listed for sale or concession and they include the Abuja Environmental Protection Board (AEPB), the Abuja International Conference Centre (ICC), some unnamed refineries, the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Abuja

to lead the International Finance Corporation (IFC) which leverages financing to support private firms in developing nations.
Diop, an economist who studied in Britain, worked in finance before entering government. He was named Senegal's minister of Economy and Finance in April
