8)Attacking Miller's work on Syria as conspiracism *does* however make sense if the aim is to smear and suppress legitimate academic inquiry. It is notable that @HamishDBG's colleague, the late le Mesurier, communicated with @oliverkamm requesting that @thetimes'keep on our case'

10) A reasonable observation would be that there appears to be an attempt to prevent the truth from being established as to how these civilians were killed at Douma. And that the 'conspiracy theory' smear is being used to achieve that suppression of the truth.

11) And that might explain why Richard, Hamish and others have continuously tweeted crude and unsophisticated material such this over the last few years, attacking Miller and others working on Syria.
