"The Jim Crow filibuster" is the message Dems should be pounding on. Some are.
That's not spin. It's just fact. It's why it exists. It's how it's been most memorably used.
Anyway, this @AriBerman piece on the fight over #HR1, "the most significant democracy reform bill since the Voting Rights Act of 1965," one that will inevitably also be a debate over the Jim Crow filibuster, is essential reading: motherjones.com/politics/2021/…
HR1 reforms would be good for the whole country, red and blue, esp independent redistricting and restraints on money in politics.
No one cares to play the long game, if the short game increases their power. But without reform we slide away from any claim to be a democracy

Truly amazing how those who spent 5 years studiously avoiding reading Trump's tweets claim to be such experts on @neeratanden's.
Tanden scrapped with both Republicans and some lefties, but yeah, it seems that some who were happy to throw punches for their camp don't like to be even elbowed, if the person with sharp elbows is a woman, and a woman of color:
As for @JoeManchinWV, he's doing this to display his Blue Dog heterodoxy, but honestly, does anyone think Tanden's tweets matter one iota to his constituents? It's the most inside-the-Beltway posturing ever.
Admission time: I didn't know dishwashers have a drain trap to clean out and, after 10 years, I just did that and it was horrifying.
Also white vinegar is a magical elixir for all things cleaning.
Glad to see that even among my middle-aged peers I'm not alone. So here are two links to get you on your way. bobvila.com/articles/how-t…
I'm a "rise the shit out of dishes before they go in washer" person, which is the only reason that this thing still works and we haven't died of some kind of cross contamination.
