We have received news from residents in Horo Guduru #Wellega that armed militias of the (1/E)

#Oromo Liberation Front (#OLF) have continued targeted killings of ethnic #Amhara across the region. Credible reports have emerged detailing a disturbing wedding massacre in which militiamen of the OLF converged onto a local wedding gathering killing all attendees except one(2/E)

elderly woman that survived the horrific incident by hiding under a family member’s dead body. All attendees including the bride, groom and 8 of their family members were all slaughtered in this horrific massacre.

Many sources have also reported that #OLF militia have been(3/E)

going door-to-door hunting and murdering ethnic #Amhara residents in execution-style killings. #GPE would also like to issue a #GPE_REDALERT that #OLF militia across the #Wellega region have finalized all necessary preparations to carry out a mass ethnic cleansing campaign(4/E)

of ethnic #Amhara.

Similarly, #OLF militia have killed 8 ethnic #Amaro in the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and People's (#SNNP) region.

#GPE has been following the issue of #AmharaGenocide in #Oromia and #Metekel for months, and we are disheartened that (5/E)

neither the Ethiopian PM, nor human rights organizations have been able to denounce and take decisive actions to stop these killings.
The responsibility to protect his own citizens lies with @AbiyAhmedAli , and the responsibility to protect vulnerable groups lies with (6/E)

We're able to verify this picture of a father who lost his whole family was from the attack we reported above. We at the GPE are finding it extremely difficult to fathom how no human rights organization is reporting on the carnage of #Amharas in #Wellega and #Metekel in #Ethiopia
