Can we talk about how good #SnowfallFX is?

As a homegrown Los Angeles native, I appreciate it for it's accuracy as far as the times and my city is concerned. Shit is so real.

I can literally remember the first time I saw a crack rock. I was 13.

I went to Palms Junior High (now Palms Middle School) in West Los Angeles in what was then one of the whitest neighborhoods ever. A lot of kid got bussed to our school from South LA.

The boy who showed me the rock was one of the kids who rode the bus. He had a crush on me, and he told me when he sold that, he could buy me anything I wanted.

I had no idea what any of that fucking meant, and I was confused by what looked like a yellow piece of dry clay.

That was 1984. The show does not lie.

Franklin's character reminds me a lot of what we used to hear about Freeway Ricky Ross.

Anyway, I watch the episodes multiple times, because I feel like the storytelling is so good, and like @WEKetchum said on Facebook, the character development is amazing.

These last few episodes, I have really been riding the wave with Leon. His anger and animosity toward Franklin. The way he truly still cares about Wanda. You can see the guilt in him that he knows the part he played in her downfall.

But the accuracy of it all. Cause the height of the crack epidemic was also the height of the gang bang years here. Niggas was getting laid down DAILY, OK?

You could see mufugga in 4th period, and by 6th period he was dead. It was that insane.

And again, I did not grow up in the hood, but that shit touched us all the way over here because those kids went to our school.

We saw so many kids who didn't even bang getting killed. You had to wear the most neutral of colors just to go to the skating rink, and even then you were still risking your life going to World on Wheels.

That shit was wild.
