The C19 response in Canada has been a tragic debacle that will impoverish this nation. At the heart of this disaster was wild exaggeration of viral threats which now scar society. It never had to happen and the science reveals that. Let's dig a bit deeper. 1/

This recent paper looking at seroprevalence peaked my interest again. It's a clever study that argues that 90% of Canadians have pre existing co-immunity to C19. Antibodies in adult sera recognize four surface proteins on c19 including Spike. 2/

The authors argue that co-immunity results from previous coronavirus infections. Note, these values starkly contrast the now forgotten seroprevalence work of Canadian Blood Services which argued for 1-2% seroprevalence. Why the difference? ....3

It comes down to the clever use of newborn blood samples as the naive baseline control rather than pre 2020 adult blood. A baseline is essential for comparison as if antibody levels are already elevated, its harder to see a viral response. A basic mistake. ...4/

The authors carefully point out the usual caveats that co-immunity isn't as strong as true C19 infection response. Fair point but the findings seem clear enough. The majority of Canadians had reasonable protection to C19.....5/

These findings nicely parallel T-cell observations in uninfected adults. Pre existing T-cell immunity has also been attributed to previous coronavirus infections. So two layers of immunological protection. .....6/

This protection bears itself out in Canada's skewed C19 death statistics which shows the elderly with multiple comorbities are at mosy risk. They are the most immune compromised. This data has been publicly available from the beginning....7/

This protection also bears itself out in Canada's all cause mortality data which shows a very modest rise as a result of three factors.

1) C19 deaths
2) Lockdown deaths in the elderly
3) Deaths of despair in the youth and those of working age.....8/

This preceding interpretation aligns with Ontario's ongoing public inquiry into LTCs and a recent Statscan report. Note, a fourth category of death will soon emerge that being 'Death by inadequate health care access".....9/

Anyways, I digress. The data above should tell us that C19 was never a threat to Canada's general population. As such, there is no need for lockdowns, masks, social distancing or the other nonsense....10/

Focused protection as highlighted in the GBD is what we need. Resources should have been aligned with risk and it is a catastrophic mistake not to do so. Likewise, the vaccination process should have been focused. 11/

Unfortunately, our public health officials seems hell bent on ignoring science again and engaging in a wasteful mass vaccination campaign. And of course society must be held hostage until its completed. .... 12/
