I think Labour's Candidate for the Hartlepool by-election fails your new social media conduct requirements for being selected.

4/ I have contacted @labourpress for comment regarding @PaulWilliamsLAB comments about Female Tory MPs and his comments about Zimbabwe being treated like Libya in 2011.

I hope they'll not ignore me like usual merely because I'm not a MSM journo....

Lawrence Fox is taking part on the Anti Lockdown protest in central London.

He said the 1st thing he'd do as Mayor is: "Make protests legal."

Mr Fox clearly doesn't understand what the London Mayor's powers are. 🤦‍♂️

When I started on Twitter in 2018, I followed George Galloway - boosted his work. I didn't know much about him bar his anti war stuff.

I stop following a long time ago, but I want to apologize for enabling him.

I try to use my platform responsibly and learn from my mistakes.
2/ We all make mistakes on social media. It's how we address them that is important.

I followed Galloway for too long out of misplaced loyalty & just plain ignorance.

That's not acceptable. It's on me.

All I can do is try to show I'm learning and trying to do better.
3/ Galloway is just one example.

Too many people turn a blind eye to problematic views until it's too late, either out of misplaced loyalty and/or fear of a backlash.

It can be hard to call out people you previously admired or believed in, but it's the right thing to do.

1/ THREAD It's upsetting as a disabled person with a son who has Autism to see @novaramedia media ignoring the backlash from @AaronBastani's interview with Peter Singer

He says disabled babies aren't equal to non disabled kids &
those with learning disabilities can't be raped
2/ I like @novaramedia on some things, which is why it's even more disappointing they've not said anything in response.

Disabled people are often used as a campaign tool, but when we raise concerns, we're ignored.

Singer has a long history if frankly abhorrent ableism. See next

Ana Lisa Sayson was a nurse who moved from the Philippines to work for the NHS in Scotland.

She was a staff nurse at Stobhill Hospital in Glasgow before she moved to Glasgow Royal Infirmary during the COVID crisis. She died on 15 December after testing positive for COVID-19.
2/ Andrew, or "Andra", Kettrick was a porter at Stirling Royal Infirmary for 28 years.

The father-of-three, from Cowie, Stirling, died at Caledonia Court care home in Larbert on 17 November. He was 86.
3/ Paul McCaffrey a healthy 49-year-old from Glasgow fell ill after returning home from work at a care home where he was a maintenance manager.

He was transferred to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where he could be hooked up to an ECMO machine. After 3 weeks, he died on 4 May.

@GCHQ didn't want photos and locations of its Surveillance Sites in Oman in the public domain.

They refuse to acknowledge or deny its existence or disclose Environment Impact Assessments as they're required to

They again neither confirm nor deny its existence citing International Relations and National Security reasons.

Just getting started on this mornings #WSPFEvents Online Conference titled:

The future for social security in England - Universal Credit, supporting vulnerable groups, and the impact of COVID-19.
