Full video 1/6
Officer Hurley blames increase in homicides on lack of GVRT and the DA not prosecuting crimes, like property destruction at "riots". Property destruction is being prosecuted and homicide spiked nationwide and in Portland before dissolution of GVRT. 2/6
LNLA member falsely claims the homeless camp by his house is "violent anarchist" rioters and Officer Hurley replies "And they likely are, I'm not disagreeing with you, but I have no crime" 3/6
LNLA member critisizes teens for giving homeless folks water because they don't know they are "criminals". Officer Hurley agrees. Hurley goes on to say homeless don't have morals, commit horrific acts & complains bc she can't arrest homeless for loitering/sleeping on benches.4/6
Hurley misleads group to believe money that was taken from Police is not being used for Portland Street Response as intended. More propaganda spewed by LNLA, like city destroying evidence of homeless folks weapons, "criminals" r given housing, bus tickets to #PDX & phones 5/6
Not only are city/county/Police employees participating in these forums full of hate, but they are legitimizing this "fake" neighborhood association by advocating for them and helping them gain power in the city. Hurley has connected them to PSAC with deep ties to PBA & city

Local coverage of Commander Erica Hurley's visit to this "community meeting". If that's what you call people gathering to demonize the homeless and spread lies and false outrage. wweek.com/news/courts/20…
It appears some leftists literally believe people are born with certain beliefs and political ideology and that those beliefs are static. 1/
On the surface, it just seems like a bad take, but underneath, is the belief that people don't change and learn. This implies that they themselves feel they are unable to change. Like were these people born leftists or are they just being disingenuous or deceiving themselves? 2/
The psychological and emotional work necessary to address one's own bigotry is overlooked. In my younger years I used many racial/homophobic slurs & treated woman poorly. It was though internal work and listening to those harmed, I was able see how fucked up I was and change. 3/
