Anas ibn Malik R.A reported: The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, would break his fast before praying with fresh dates. If there were no fresh dates, then with dry dates. If there were no dry dates, then with some sips of water.
- Sunan al-Tirmidhī 696
@Hadithoftheday Salman ibn ‘Amir R.A reported: The Messenger of Allah,ﷺ said, “When one of you breaks his fast, let him break it with dates for they are blessed. If they are not found, let him break it with water for it is pure.”
- Sunan al-Tirmidhī 695
@Hadithoftheday It was narrated that Anas R.A said: I never saw the Prophet ﷺ pray until he had broken his fast, even if that was with a drink of water.
@Hadithoftheday Limiting oneself to date and water when breaking the fast is very beneficial, because it introduces food into the stomach gradually, so that it will be prepared to receive food after that.
@Hadithoftheday The fact that the Prophet ﷺ broke his fast with fresh or dried dates or water is very beneficial to the health, because fasting empties the stomach of food and there is no nourishment to be sent to the different parts of the body. +
@Hadithoftheday Sweet foods are quickest to be absorbed and processed, especially if they are fresh, so they are more readily digested.
If there are no fresh dates, then one should eat dried dates because they are sweet and nourishing. +
@Hadithoftheday If there are no dried dates then a few sips of water will extinguish the pangs of hunger and the heat of fasting, to that the stimach will be prepared to receive food.
@Hadithoftheday It is better to hasten to break the fast as soon as the sun has set; this brings a more complete reward.
Sahl ibn Sa’d Narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “The people will continue to do well so long as they hasten to break the fast.” - Bukhaari (1957) & Muslim (1098)
@Hadithoftheday It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah R.A that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“The people will remain upon goodness so long as they hasten to break the fast. Hasten to break the fast, for the Jews delay it.”

Allah says in Qur'an:
"The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months."
(Qur'an: Surah Al-Qadr 97: Verse 3)
Laylatul-Qadr falls in odd nights in the last ten days of Ramadan.
A truly beautiful night filled with blessings & rewards.
@Hadithoftheday Laylatul-Qadr falls in one of the odd nights in last 10 days of Ramadan.
Narrated Aisha R.A : Allah's Apostle ﷺ said, Search for the Night of Qadr in the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadan. - Sahih Bukhari, Hadith number 2017
@Hadithoftheday Glorious Qur'an was first revealed in the night of Laylatul-Qadr.
Allah says in Qur'an:
"Indeed, We sent the Qur'an down during the Night of Decree."
(Quran: Al-Qadr 97: Verse 1)
"The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months."
(Quran: Al-Qadr 97: Verse 3)
@Hadithoftheday Fig and Olive.
Allah says in Qur'an:
"By the fig and the olive"
(Qur'an. At-Tin 95: Verse 1)
@Hadithoftheday Umar ibn al-Khattaab said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Eat olive oil and anoint yourselves with it, for it comes from a blessed tree.” - Tirmidhi
@Hadithoftheday Allah says in Qur'an:
And a tree (olive) that springs forth from Mount Sinai, that grows oil, and (it is a) relish for the eaters." [al-Mu’minoon 23:20]
@Hadithoftheday Qabil - Son of Adam A.S
Narrated Abdullah ibn Mas'ud R.A:
Allah's Messenger ﷺ said, "Whenever a person is murdered unjustly, there is a share from the burden of the crime on the first son of Adam for he was the first to start the tradition of murdering." - (Sahih Bukhari 3335)
@Hadithoftheday Qabeel was the son of Adam A.S and brother of Habeel.
Qabeel Killed Habeel out of jealousy and personal desire.
Every time, a murder is committed, Qabeel will also have to bear the sin as well as Qabeel was the first person on earth to have killed a human being.
@Hadithoftheday This story of two sons of Adam A.S is related in Surah Ma'idah.
Allah says in Qur'an:
And recite to them the story of Adam’s two sons in truth, when they presented an offering and it was accepted from one of them but was not accepted from the other.” (5:27)
@Hadithoftheday Lut A.S.
The angels arrived at the outskirts of Lut A.S's town in the form of very handsome human beings.
They said to Lut A.S as mentioned in Qur'an,
“O Lut, indeed we are messengers of your Lord; [therefore], they will never reach you,” (Qur’an 11:80)
@Hadithoftheday Community of Lut A.S was destroyed by their land turning upside down and a rain of stones (sijjil) fell upon them.
Allah says in Qur'an:
"And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned."
(Qur'an. Ash-Shu'araa 26: Verse 173)
@Hadithoftheday Lut A.S went to the city of Sodom after Ibrahim A.S had asked him to do so.
The people of Sodom were of the most immoral and insolent nature. Although they were guilty of many vices, one stands out glaringly among all the rest – homosexuality or sodomy.
@Hadithoftheday The Ansar were the people of Madinah who welcomed and accepted the Muhajirin.
"Ansar" is an arabic word which means "Helpers".
Ansar were the local people of Madinah who took Muhammad ﷺ & his followers (Muhajirin) into their homes when they migrated from Makkah during Hijrah.
@Hadithoftheday Ansar were the Medinese who aided Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and the Muhajirun (Makkan Muslims who emigrated from makkah to madinah).
The Ansar were members of the two major Medinese tribes,
1.Al-Khazraj and 2. Al-Aws,
@Hadithoftheday Ansar were the people from Madinah who gave material support and the bayah (pledge of allegiance) to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and by the permission of Allah made the hijrah possible.
The event of the Hijrah was a turning point in the history of Islam
@Hadithoftheday Protection of Allah Against Satan (Shaytan).
Allah says in Qur'an:
"So when you recite the Qur'an, seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the expelled [from His mercy]."
(Qur'an. An-Nahl 16: Verse 98)
@Hadithoftheday One should seek refuge with Allah from Satan. It is because that Satan is expelled from the mercy of Allah and is an enemy to humans as Allah says in Qur'an:
"Indeed, Satan is an enemy to you; so take him as an enemy." (Surah Fatir: 6).
@Hadithoftheday Satan aspires to avert one away from the straight path of Allah, so one should treat him as an enemy and protect himself/herself from him by obeying Allah and seeking refuge with Him.
