@Hadithoftheday Uncle (Paternal Uncle)
Abu Lahab was son of Abdul Mutalib
Abu Lahab was born in Makkah
His original name was Abdul Uzza
He was nicknamed Abu Lahab on account of his reddish complexion.
Abu Lahab is the only person from the enemies of Islam who has been cursed by name in the Quran
@Hadithoftheday Abu Lahab was one of staunch enemies of Prophet ﷺ & uncle of Prophet ﷺ. He & his wife Umm jamil did everything they could do to prosecute the Prophet ﷺ
Allah says in Qur'an:
"May the hands of Abu Lahab be ruined, & ruined is he.(111:1)
@Hadithoftheday Allah says in Qur'an:
"His wealth will not avail him or that which he gained."
"He will enter to burn in a Fire of [blazing] flame"
"And his wife [as well] - the carrier of firewood."
"Around her neck is a rope of [twisted] fiber."
(Qur'an. Surah Al-Masad 111: Verse 2-5)
@Hadithoftheday Surah Masad was revealed to reprimand him and his wife.
Real name of Abu lahab was Abd-Al-Uzza. But, Because of his pretty, rosy face, and red cheeks, his father called him "Abu Lahab" (possessor of flame).
@Hadithoftheday Abu Lahab is the only person from the enemies of Islam who has been cursed by name in the Glorious Qur’an. Although he was an uncle of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, he staunchly opposed Islam from the very beginning.
@Hadithoftheday Abu Lahab opposed Prophet Muhammad ﷺ from the day Prophet ﷺ declared his Prophethood on Mount Safa.
When Prophet ﷺ invited them to Islam, Abu lahab saw the message as a challenge to his leadership. He cried: “Perish be you... Did you gather us just for this?”
@Hadithoftheday It was a great shock on the first day of the declaration of Prophethood and invitation to the religion of Islam. Allah sealed Abu Lahab’s fate and later revealed Surah Madad (chapter 111) regarding his fate.
@Hadithoftheday Abu Lahab lived for 12 years after the declaration of Islam and saw many leading personalities like his brother Hamza R.A and Umar bin Khattab R.A embracing Islam, but he never did.
@Hadithoftheday In the beginning, he loved his nephew, Muhammad ﷺ & sent his maid to suckle the child. Later, he also contracted Nikaah of two of his sons with the two daughters of the Prophet ﷺ named Ruqayya R.A and Umm Kulthum R.A but they were not sent home as they were minors.
@Hadithoftheday But after the Qur'anic revelation against him, he was so furious that he instructed his sons to divorce the two daughters.
Later, the Prophet ﷺ's first daughter was married to Uthman R.A.Uthman R.A married the Prophet ﷺ's other daughter when one passed away.
@Hadithoftheday Abu Lahab's wife, Arwa bint Harb, nicknamed Umm Jameel was aunt of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, & she used to throw thorny bushes in the path of the Prophet ﷺ The Qur’an chastised both Abu Lahab and his wife in Surah Masad and both of them died a miserable death as disbelievers.

@Hadithoftheday After Hijrah.
The command to shift the direction of salah to the Kabah was revealed to the Prophet ﷺ about 16-17 months after his immigration to Madinah.
@Hadithoftheday The first Qiblah that Muslims faced in their prayers was Al-Aqsa Masjid in Jerusalem.
In Makkah before the immigration to Madinah, Muslims were commanded to face Jerusalem in their prayer. This was the first Qibla that Muslims faced during the salah.
@Hadithoftheday After immigrating to Madinah, the Muslims continued to face Jerusalem for more 16 or 17 months. The Jews of Madinah rejoiced the fact that the Prophet had to take their sacred city as a Qibla. They used this to spread doubts about the validity of Islam. +
A Thread.
When Prophet Dawood A.S suddenly faced two claimants who later turned out to be angels testing him.
The two angels came in form of claimants & asked Dawood A.S to judge a case.
Dawood A.S passed the verdict listening only one part of story & not the other.
The angels disappeared & he realised they were angels sent by Allah to test him & he had made a mistake
Dawood A.S used to have a special place where he could be alone to perform his worship. This area was off limits to the public. One night, a strange incident happened. Two people entered that place by climbing over the walls.Dawood A.S was understandably alarmed when he saw them+
