@Uber shame on you!!!
I had a bad enough morning yesterday dealing with an injury therefore unable to drive. I later ordered an Uber to get home from the doctors, driver was at the wrong pick up location, I kindly informed the driver of this. @threadreaderapp “unroll”
I then endured nasty comments via message as well as racist comments from the Uber Driver, whilst he was driving away from my location unwilling to cancel the trip, also trying call me on the phone, most likely to verbally abuse me! @threadreaderapp “unroll”
I was obviously upset, worried as the person had my home address and the fact he may have staked me online as my profile isn’t on the app.
Emotional and scared I TRY to contact someone at Uber, which isn’t that easy especially when upset. @threadreaderapp unroll
I’m led to a link, I request someone contact me due to being racially abused. I get a reply asking for more info, I reply again asking to speak to someone as I wanted to be reassured how this would be dealt with as I was scared he would come to my home. @threadreaderapp unroll
Over 24 hours after their last email they have not once checked in to see if I’m ok
I am absolutely outraged that this has been left!! What if something more happened, why do I have to go out of my way to make things easy for Uber, I want someone to talk to me! @threadreaderapp
Being female is hard enough to travel and feel safe, I often get the Uber early mornings or late at night due to Work commitments. I do this as I don’t feel safe by myself at those hours, but that’s a while other issue! @threadreaderapp unroll
This happened mid morning and now I just feel unsafe and upset that this isn’t taken seriously.
In the email from Uber I get a generic “Sorry to hear your trip didn’t go as you’d liked”.......
Now I’m not here complaining about the volume of the music in the car or the temperature of the car I’m complaining about being racially attacked and I now feel unsafe and unsure what transport is safe! @threadreaderapp unroll
This isn’t good enough, It shouldn’t be hard to report an incident. Shame on you Uber and shame on that disgusting driver.
