(1) The word "heckled" is trending bc Ds think it's funny that Rs used it.

OK kids, what word should they have used instead? Approached? Saw? Heard from?

(2) Why were the Senators there, you ask.

Because they have been trying to get the Biden administration to keep it's transparency promise by allowing reasonable oversight access to federal sites, to allow Congress to do its job.

The Trump admin allowed Ds & media access.

(3) And are you saying the level of attempted illegal immigration at the Southern Border right now is NOT a humanitarian crisis?

Or is it easier to focus on the choice of one word, "heckled"?

(4) Granted, _some_ Trump voters wanted to stop ALL immigration. Those people are nuts and never would have gotten their way, ever.

Most Trump voters wanted to stop ILLEGAL immigration. Because it is dangerous for those trying to do it, and Congress made laws against it.

(5) Daily reminder for Democrats freaking out about enforcing US law at the border:

Congress made these laws, and your own Reps and Senators voted for them. Including a barrier system, prior to 2016.

All we did was try to implement those laws.

(6) This kind of Twitter involvement in partisan politics doesn't surprise me anymore. I've seen it happening since I joined "political twitter" in February 2016.

Democrats, are you aware that a group of R voters actually agree with you about Ted Cruz and Cancun?

(7) That's right. Not every R voter was swayed by the excuse-making of Ted Cruz during the storm disaster in Texas this year.

Just like not every D voter is swayed by any number of antics carried out by this or that D Senator.

We can play politics or we can solve problems.

(10) Among this group of 17 Senators are people I wouldn't trust to walk my dog around the block and bring him back to me, and others I'm relying on to help rebuild an effective party after the Trump presidency.

It's rare to see so many Senators going on a visit such as this.

(11) I'm impressed by their decision to go on the visit, period. The issue does need more attention, and the Senate minority is doing the right thing by calling for it.

There will be times when Democrats need the votes of one or two Rs in the 50/50 Senate.

(12) For now, Ds have a Senate majority by virtue of a D VP who can break a tie. In practice it's not easy to advance your policy program in that situation.

I'm now in the faction of conservatives trying to work with moderate liberals, to counter the extremists on both sides.

(13) It's a small group compared to others so: I knew it would be a lonely road, but I did it anyway.

Fanning the flames of division is costing lives.

I care about saying the lives of those lawfully in the USA & unlawfully in the USA. Because I have a working moral compass.

(14) I don't see a way to save lives without valuing the rule of law. Ofc, "one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter."

Issues like border security are highly contentious, difficult issues to debate and act on.

We must do better than joking about side issues.
