Foreign preacher instructing Alberta Christian believers to push back. Telling Albertans this has nothing to do with covid. AHS and UCP just want to attack Christians and persecute them.
Sure. Sounds plausible. 🤦🏻♀️
Evangelical Christians circulating petition by sanctioned CPC MP Sloan. Also agreeing with foreigner inciting an uprising from churchgoers to eliminate lockdowns.
It’s non-violent, so it’s ok to put other’s lives at risk.
And of course Stockwell Day. I just... can’t. Ugh! 🤦🏻♀️
Spiritual concerns don’t involve concern for fellow citizens. Christians don’t care about earthly health and safety. Silly non believer.
Some are looking for divine smiting.
False irrational logic offered to justify ignoring laws.
And back to the Liberty theme.
Unsurprisingly, the refusal to abide by public health orders is linked to the desire for secession.
Many more than 15 are rejecting public health science. Don’t you feel safe?
Those believing FN are adamantly disapproving. Nope. Many are evangelicals too.
Support from crazies like Hillier in Ontario.
Proof that evangelicals would put everyone at risk to prove god protects them (he doesn’t by the way).
The divide in UCP is between ultra radical extremists and regular radical extremists.
Options for retaliation. Box cutters and Jericho marches. Maybe god will collapse the metal fencing like he did the walls of Jericho.
Radicalized evangelicals are convinced anyone with opposing beliefs is a totalitarian. Comparison to Hitler & Ceaușescu. PROJECTION much?
A seriously flawed understanding of constitutional rights. Who is propagating these misunderstandings? Who is creating false beliefs that religious freedom trumps all other rights, including the right to life?
Because they’re also threatening to pick up swords to fight.
There is way too much foreign interference in Canadian politics. Americans don’t understand we have our own constitution and it doesn’t follow the outline of the American constitution.
The thought that others have their own version of democracy doesn’t dawn on them. 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
More confused and poorly understood ramblings about constitutional freedoms and the right to endanger others lives at whim because the everlasting salvation of their soul is far more important than a sinner’s or non-believers actual life.
The selfishness is utterly disturbing.
Again the justification that if they believe god ordered it, it supersedes secular laws.
You can’t argue with the authority of a divine being.
But Christians and more specifically pastors, are taking on the authority of god by proclaiming their interpretation is irrefutable.
The situation is untenable. There can be NO GOVT SUPPORT for those who break the rule of law because they believe their god gives them permission to do so. In fact, he demands them to ignore and flout secular laws put in place to protect the public.
Apparently god doesn’t want to protect lives, just souls. Which begs the question, why create biological beings if their actual lives are worthless and only the souls contained within are valued? What kind of god would make such a blunder?
I suspect it’s the god of a group of people who don’t have the practiced critical thinking skills and fail to see the holes in their rationale and logic. People aren’t made in gods image. Gods are made in people’s flawed image. Especially when you don’t think critically.
The more magical the thinking skills, the meaner and more vengeful the god it seems. Says a lot about those who believe in a deity that punishes human beings for being flesh and blood and fallible.
That’s who and what is attempting to force UCPs hand.
They want full control of the policies and full compliance with their Christian Nationalist agenda. And they’re influenced heavily by like minded Christian Nationalists from the US.
Many of these Christian nationalists still believe the US presidential election was stolen from Trump, and that Jan 6 was an attempt to set things right. They also believe their faith makes them a patriot, Christian soldiers and superior human beings.
Violence isn’t imminent, yet. But that’s the direction this is headed.
As Kenney dithers and panders to this electoral minority group, they continue to receive the message that they are in control.
Emboldened enough to butcher legislative norms and party protocol.
Kenney may seem like he’s attempting to reign the emboldened in, but he’s the one who enabled them to consolidate power and influence this past year. And catered to their every policy whim.
I really wish the public would stop resisting to acknowledge the Christian nationalist agenda of UCP.
What many perceive as incompetence and failure is actually well planned strategy.
UCP is an autocratic political party catering to Christian theocrats.
Exactly what Trump was doing in the US. Kenney is just more stealthy about it.
He wants you to believe he’s in trouble. This is his support base. This is who elected him and the UCP.
Alberta covid cases are exponentially expanding.
We need a hard core circuit breaker for probably 4 weeks and aggressive vaccination efforts for essential workers to avert catastrophe and hospitals being overwhelmed.
But we aren’t talking about a lockdown.
Instead we’re bickering about the rights and freedoms of evangelicals to break covid orders. Ignore rule of law. Escape accountability for months at a time.
While our children are still attending in school instruction, most businesses remain open and covid variants take hold.
Sounds to me like we’re heading for another extended declaration of emergency.
Boy Albertans are easy to manipulate. So gullible and willing to believe malice is incompetence like the breaking of a long established norm that speakers don’t criticize the government publicly.

To consolidate power, means to rapidly consolidate your own prestige (through quick successes, disposing of enemies, or a successful war) or decrease your enemies' prestige (tripping them up, winning an internal political battle or major argument, or killing/exiling them).
This article is written in response to Pastor Coates and Grace Life elders decision to continue to ignore public health orders.
Please read to understand the mental gymnastics performed to rationalize ignoring the rule of law. People need to witness what we are up against.
The author is aware of criticism heaped on churches that refuse to abide by public health orders. Here it’s explained that putting your neighbour at risk is honouring God’s commandments. Not protecting their life by wearing a mask or staying home.
Christian Nationalist parishioners (not just Grace Life congregation) have been indoctrinated to believe their faith permits them to ignore the secular laws of governments because they follow God’s/Jesus’s laws.
This is regularly reinforced in church and on social media.
@mrenner_schultz Martha I really liked your thread about Artur Pawlowski, the pastor that labelled health inspector and accompanying police Nazis for attempting to enforce public health orders for safety.
But it’s difficult to read.
Any chance you could post it again as a connected thread? I like it so much I would like to amplify it. And maybe build upon the narrative you’ve created.
Not a demand, just a request if you have time. Let me know if you require assistance on how to string tweets together.
What you say in the thread is important. Rule of law is being undermined by these pastors and the government is complicit.
Kenney attempts to convince the public he supports the rule of law and rejects the use of hyperbole and demagogic rhetoric as weapons.
Regardless if it has to do with covid or the emergency.
It is in the best interests of UCP to keep the province saturated with covid. That way, they don’t have to go through review of their policies and dissenting opinion. They don’t have to even inform us until it’s done.
How did coal policy get changed without consultation and debate?
Alberta had declared a state of emergency. They repealed the legislation when Alberta was in a state of emergency. Therefore bypassing the legislative and debate process.
